I’m pulling for the Nats as well but with Verlander on the mound tonight I expect this series to be tied.

The Yankees can just not get to the Fall Classic it seems and Houston out pitched and out played them yet again.

Nats do have Strasburg going tonight. Verlander is great but he hasn't been vintage Verlander in his last couple of starts. And the Nats seem to have something special going on right now.

All true about the Yanks. They were outplayed. The problem that I see with the Yanks is that they keep trying to win in the postseason the same way as the Royals did in 2015 and in my opinion, it's a mistake. Yes the Royals had mediocre starting pitching and a lights out bullpen. But they also had an offense full of players who put the bat on the ball and didn't strike out. Plus, they were tremendously athletic who applied pressure on the bases. Yanks don't have that kind of an offense. So either they cut down on the strikeouts or they have to acquire dominant starting pitching that will give them length to combine with their bullpen. Yanks bullpen was exposed in the Astros series because they kept relying on the same guys to pitch each game. Not winning a WS with that formula.

What a great hire! Rossy is a great guy who is genuine from all the stories I have read - from writers, from bloggers, from players, from coaches, and from fans.

I think Maddon will also be good for the Angels. They need a major reset after all the scandal with Skaggs, their PR department, etc. I would think that everyone is tradable except for Trout.

The Nationals just seem special this year. It's maddening to think that Rendon hasn't gotten the respect he deserves as a player. He's been playing great ball for years.

Some people hate the Yankees for whatever reason - I respect the heck out of the organization. I loved Steinbrenner. It's hard not to like Judge, Gardner, LeMahieu etc. The only one I am not high on is Sanchez.

Everybody loves to hate the Yankees even though they haven’t been in the Fall Classic since ‘09.

I hope they resign Gardner. What a season he had for someone who was supposed to be a back up outfielder. His leadership will also be important in the clubhouse now that CC is gone. He’s the last of the old breed.

LaMahieu was probably the best free agent signing in all of baseball this season. What a half he had.

Yes! I think it's just an overblown reputation that the Yankees have carried because of the previous years of A-Roid.

I agree with you about DJ! He is a great, great player. They will be VERY scary if they get some more starting pitching this off-season!

I was cheering my ass off for them to beat Houston. I hate Bregman, Cole, and Verlander with a passion of a thousand fires.

This was predictable in its "unpredictability". Not one to follow MLB at all, but when I saw the series odds, I was like "Oh, so the Nationals are probably going to pull the upset."

Seems like the same script for every WS.

Granted, it's not over yet...

The way Rizzo introduced Ross at the Cubs championship parade makes me think that Ross is THE guy. Everyone has always said that he's the next "big thing" and for his sake and the Cubs' sake, I hope "they" are right. I like Theo.

Yes! I didn't catch a lot of Yankees games this year, but the ones I did see I noticed that there were a lot of passed balls in the dirt that should've been blocked that weren't by him. I also noticed he doesn't always hustle. Is that the case throughout the season?

That’s pretty much Sanchez in a nutshell. He really needs to work on the passed balls issue.

Granted, it's not over yet...

The Nationals got off to a terrible start, but since like the end of May have had the best record, and finished the regular season stronger than any other team. They're underdogs only in the sense that a lot of people haven't taken notice of them, but they're every bit as good as the Astros.

Unfortunately the Wiz cannot be in a deep rebuild mode because their cap situation sucks and they have drafted like poop except for Beal.
