SEATTLE (AP)—San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum(notes) is facing misdemeanor marijuana charges following a traffic stop in his home state.

Washington State Patrol spokesman Steve Schatzel said Thursday that the 2008 Cy Young Award winner and former University of Washington star was pulled over for speeding on Interstate 5 in the town of Hazel Dell, about four miles north of the Oregon border, on Oct. 30.

An officer approached Lincecum’s 2006 Mercedes and smelled marijuana as the pitcher rolled down his window. Schatzel said Lincecum immediately complied with a request to hand over the drug and a marijuana pipe from the car’s center console.

Haha. It's great that you think the best game in history is a game that the Mets won only because of a boneheaded error.

Mets can't win, they just need the other team to lose. Good to see nothing's changed with the current Mets team.

Going to be curious what kind of money Holliday gets. His agent is Scott Boras and he thinks Holliday is worthy of Mark Teixiera money, which was 8 years/$180 million. The Cardinals are supposedly offering 6 years/$96 million.

It's going to be interesting to see how the Yankees spend money this offseason. They lose Matsui and Damon's $13 million/year contracts. If Pettitte decides to retire or not return to New York they'll have to go after a top-tier pitcher, and they might go after one regardless. They also lose Xavier Nady, Chien-Ming Wang, Chad Gaudin, Jose Malina, Jerry Hairston Jr., Eric Hinske, and Melky Cabrera, although some of those guys will be kept through arbitration.

Boras can either make a guy a ton of money or totally rain on a stars parade by making the demands so outrageous that teams shy away, Holliday is worthy of a significant contract but I dont beieve he is in the elite status, should be interesting to see where the offers come from, so many teams need immediate help but what can they afford ?

Holliday will get substantial money from some team. The Red Sox are also supposedly interested in him. He will not get the numbers Boras is throwing around though. His numbers were inflated playing in Colorado, and his performance in the tougher American League was a little suspect.

So then be a loyal Yankee fan and if you really feel as though they are a class act why not follow suit and show a little yourself,your team won the Series fair and square, great I showed my true sportsman ship by congratulating the fans and so on yet now I come back in here and you immediately post after me to get my goat up , give it a rest man, I like this forum and this thread as there are "some cool people" here. The freaking Series was still being played, right, its called bantering back and forth in a sports thread , that makes it a little more interesting to be a part of the thread , some trash talking if you will. I am pretty sure the Series is over for 2009 and that the winner was decided and crowned the Champs. I have not done anything to show disrespect to any ones team since and offered up my congratulations, but you, the busy little bee that you are saw my post and jump right in with a BS post,you are a real genius I am sure, I guess you out smarted me again,

That's fine as I did the same thing last year and agree 100% but I dont see where its your place to come at my every post with BS, I came in here as a sportsfan to talk baseball and such , a way of unwinding after such a huge loss and you see it as an opportunity to dig in some more, complete lack of respect for a fellow HT enthusiast/sportsfan.While you celebrate I am thinking about all the moves that will take place in the next few months I dont feel as though I need to defend my posts and my team as that season has come to a close.
