My Dream baseball trip would be to follow the Tigers to Baltimore, Boston, and NYC, take 2 weeks catch 1 game in each stadium, sit on the Green monster, to me thats would be the trip of trips, 3 legendary parks granted the house Ruth built has been torn down but Camden Yards and Fenway still stand

Hall of Fame voting used to be much more informal - many writers barely even knew who was eligible each year. Their ballots also weren't published anywhere except in aggregate, so there was no vote shaming.
In what I call the Twitter age of Hall voting, most voters go public and post them on social media. It's created far more groupthink about nominees and you see campaigns for marginal candidates seriously swaying voters. |

Next year will be interesting as it's a very light class. Not that this year wasn't as there was only one 1st ballot HOFer. However, it appears that Schilling should get in on his 9th year but it's curious to see how Bonds and Clemens since I think that might dictate the following year with Ortiz.

I kid, I kid. But I have the feeling that is all that's going to be discussed in the MLB media through spring training if there's no hot rookie like the past few years (Kris Bryant, Ohtani even though he didn't perform well in spring training). |

Yes they did because it takes a large market team to bail out another large market teams mistakes lol. This time they did get an all star in return with Betts but for how long, he wants over 400 million and over 10 years lol, I have watched his entire career and he is not worth that kind of coin imo.

Boston loves Los Angeles to always clean up there financial messes. The first time in 2012, delivered a $250 million savings which helped them to later re-sign David Ortiz, and add Ryan Dempster, Stephen Drew, Shane Victorino, and Mike Napoli as free agents. They won the World Series largely due to those acquisitions in 2013.
This Betts trade will not have the same effect. I see them struggling for relevance for the next 3-5 years. Tampa and New York will be battling for the East title now. |

Almost every prospect Dombrwoski traded hasn't panned out, except for Yoan Moncada. Manuel Margot made the major leagues but he might be out of them in a few years if he keeps his current pace.

It would be an interesting survey to see what percentage of prospects, that are in these BIG trades, actually have a decent MLB career. They always focus the spotlight on the teams that get fleeced due to the prospect turning into a STUD. They never really talk about the CAN'T MISS guys that never pan out.

This stuff leaking out over two months has been worse for baseball than if it all came out at once back in December. Manfred has been a disaster as commissioner and makes me yearn for the days of Bud Selig, which I never thought I'd say. |
