The umpiring hasn't been that great this playoffs. Nothing particularly tilted towards one team or the other, but it's been like that since the earliest rounds. I actually think they jobbed the Yankees a bit this postseason with balls and strike calls, which is the first time I can remember that happening in the postseason.

The question now is was it Kevin Cash's decision to pull Snell or are the Rays one of those teams that gives their analytics department too much control?

In other news, Justin Turner tested positive for covid-19 and that was the reason he had to be pulled in the later innings. He can't celebrate with the team, it seems.

The timing of the Justin Turner thing is very, very strange and suspect. It's like MLB knew Turner had tested positive before the game but didn't want to pull a key Dodger for games six and seven from the World Series. How convenient he's pulled after the Dodgers take the lead in late innings.

I'm glad Kershaw has his ring. If anyone deserves one, it's him.

So happy for the Dodgers and especially for Kershaw. Glad Urias was able to finish and he looked great. I have no confidence in Jansen anymore. And I just celebrated the Laker's championship. What a month!

Really odd Turner testing positive and the timing of it. False positives though are not that rare and I hope this is one of them. I have no problem with him coming out for the team photo. Although it may not look good to many, your not going to give covid to someone in just a minute or two unless you sneeze in their face. It's prolonged face to face contact and nearly always indoors.

Agreed, this smells foul. And it's a very bad look for Turner to return to the field to celebrate with his teammates even REMOVING HIS MASK. I fully understand wanting a celebrate, but...

Great article from Jeff Passan about the Turner situation. The opening paragraph is a perfect summation of how this country doesn't fully commit to anything deemed inconvenient:

"In this oddest of years, this most peculiar of baseball seasons, there was perhaps no more telling snapshot of the United States, circa 2020, than a COVID-19-positive man sitting on the ground, maskless, next to a cancer survivor, maskless as well, with indelible grins spread across their faces. Tony LaRussa, 76, is the new White Sox manager, which is where he started his managerial career from 1979-1986. He is the first manager to return to coaching after being elected to the Hall of Fame.

I really don't get it to be honest, guy is later 70's out of the league for almost a decade.

These players have changed a good bit imo the last decade and with a nearly 50 year average age gap between him and his players, that might not work out so well. I got to think they must be looking to groom someone that is just not quite ready yet, within their origination.

I don't know, do we have any Sox fans on here? I have no idea who they have within their organization that is looking like they have manager potential.

Otherwise if not then imo this is a questionable hire for them imo.

Lots of fans don't seem to like it but La Russa is a great manager. Baseball is still baseball. I think it's a good move by the White Sox.
