Soto looked like he was going to pinch hit a few times. Perhaps it was just Boone playing mind games.

Trent Grisham cannot bunt. That was brutal to watch.

I had to watch the Yanks win at Dodgers stadium last season. And of course the only Yanks fan in the vicinity just had to be sitting right next to me.

Yankees might have lost the series against the Dodgers, but Judge was an absolute monster this weekend. He went 7 for 11 (.636 BA), with 3 HR's, 3 BB's, and 5 RBI's.

But I guess Teoscar Hernandez's 3 HRs, 2 doubles, and 9 RBIs, and of course one of the HRs being a grand slam doesn't qualify for a monstrous weekend.

I didn't even know who he was before this season but I like him so far.

He's been solid if not down right impressive. And his veteran presence has been great for younger teammates. Sure he's had his own slumps, but that also seems to be an entire offense off-and-on plague this season. I sometimes wonder how they've managed to stay in the top 5 in overall standings.

It's nutty because the pitching staff has been banged up all season and Ohtani and Betts have been good but not amazing.

For sure, and that considered, the pitching has still been pretty solid and hasn't given up a ton of runs. But I feel for Glasnow who's been pitching great and lights out at times. He got to 6 wins pretty quickly, but then the bottom dropped out of the offense which hasn't been helping him much his last few starts.

Crazy fact I just realized. Jackie Robinson's wife is STILL living - she'll turn 102 years old in July. He was only a few years older than her, but he passed away more than 50 years ago. I actually met Rachel Robinson way back in 1990 as a kid when she unveiled a statue of her late husband at Jackie Robinson Ballpark here in Daytona.

This was her at age 100 - looking good for her age.
