RIP - Willie Mays is usually put at #2 on most lists of greatest baseball players of all-time, behind only Ruth, and I tend to agree. Legendary hitter, legendary fielder. He won 12 straight Gold Gloves and that award didn't even exist until like 5 years he entered the league or he'd have won several more.

Fun fact - September 29th of this year will mark the 70th anniversary of "The Catch." ESPN did a breakdown on The Catch and it's even more bananas than you'd think. It required a level of pinpoint precision/timing that is off the charts for mere mortals.

Dodgers pooped the bed last night but with Stone taking the mound today I imagine they'll win this series 3-1, which would also be their record since Betts broke his hand.

The pitching has been in the crapper this series so far. Considering how banged up the pitching staff has been for much of the season, they'd been holding teams to 3 to 4 runs or less. But now they give up 21 runs in 3 games to the dead last Rockies who are 19 games behind is aggravating. Factor in the offense has been consistently stagnant of late, it's hard to believe they're having to compete after putting up 26 runs so far this same series.

Got nervous in the top of the 9th after they didn't score when it was 5-3, even knowing Philips would be on the mound. Damn, his wicked sweeper didn't look affected in the slightest by the elevation.

Subway Series started last night. Cole giving up 4 home runs was hard to watch. I know he didn’t want to be down in AA, AAA for long but only one start with Scranton and then back to The Show…I think he needed more time.

Nice to see Judge make it a ballgame with a grand slam in the 8th, but still not enough.
