Fans finally getting the series we all wanted. Viewership numbers should be very interesting, especially with Ohtani’s fans.

Half of me says I’m happy the Yankees have made this far, and I’ll be content if they at least put up a good fight. The other half says screw that noise, it’s all or nothing because who knows when they’ll get this far again (which is crazy for a Yankees fan to say, but look at the hard times this franchise has been in since 2009).

I will say this much. Like the famous meme goes, “I just hope both teams have fun.”

I agree great for ratings but **** the Yankees. Any team that can ignore the salary cap or threshold IE Dodgers and Yankees have an unfair advantage over all the MLB teams. Due to Yes network Yankees can clear a 400 million dollar payroll and still make profit compared to any other team in baseball.

So Yep that team and its owners can choke on one and go away as far as I care.

If the top-2 payrolls is all it took to get to the World Series, then the Mets would be there.

Dodgers payroll is #5.

So the Mets were once 10 games under .500 with the highest payroll in baseball? I had no idea.

Glad a few other teams not in New York have a higher payroll then the hated Dodgers, with several more paying only about 10% less. Now I can take solace in that, if we win the Series, it won't be because it was bought.

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens with Soto in the offseason. We're seeing how valuable he is in these postseason games. If the Yanks want chances to win multiple championships, Soto is the key to that. I love Judge but he still has a lot to prove in the playoffs. I think Judge is the key to this WS. If he gets hot and hits like he is capable of, I think it's going to be very hard for the Dodgers to win.

It’s not that serious, guys lol. Putting salary aside and personal hatred for a specific team, it’s by far the sexiest matchup on paper, even long before Judge, Stanton, and Ohtani came along.

It’s like wanting a Red Sox vs Yankees ALCS. I personally always can’t stand Red Sox nation, but it’s quite obviously a popcorn matchup more than a Tampa vs Baltimore series or something.

I’ve had to endure plenty of Red Sox and Astros deep playoff runs in the last 10-20 years, so please let me and the nation have this one little thing.

For all we know, we may never get it again in our lifetime.

Lets call it what it is the Dodgers Payroll is #5 because of fuzzy math its really number 1 or 2 with that Ohtoni contract. He has a cap of 70 million per year but only shows on the books as 2 million because of some Bobby Bonia math. You add the deferred 68 million like it should be they are right there with a 310 million dollar payroll putting them at number 1 or number 2.

or how about the other billionaire owners start actually putting money into their team to win rather than line their pockets? im not saying NY, LA etc dont have an advantage splashing money around but clearly doesnt automatically equate to success. Hell, the freakin Diamondbacks made the world series last year.

idk, im the opposite and think its going to take quite a bit from our guys to get past the Dodgers. pitching needs to be on point and we better start swinging the bats. cant rely on homeruns to get us out of every game. batting .231 vs the Royals and .241 vs Cleveland aint gonna get it done against the Dodgers.

How do you expect a KC owner to put 300 million into their team. They would never recoup that its a loss for them. Same with Detroit max we can do is 175 million. 300 Million is only possible for Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers no other team can clear that.

im not saying they should be at the top of the list but certainly can do better than 28th out of 30....they are valued at 1.23 billion.

Yeah I hate both of these teams. No chance I'll be watching any of this.

I hope the Dodgers sweep them and win every game by double digits so they don't get their ratings.

Yeah with a total revenue of 302 Million, They had a player expenses of 57 million this does not include operating costs of stadium and all the people it takes to run the venue.

Yankees are valued at 8 Billion with an operating Revenue of 700 million, Player expenses of 291 million with gate receipts of 284 million and income from Yes Network of 194 million.

Like I said your not comparing apples to apples here. Yankees based of everything have a far better profit margin and revenues compared to any team in baseball really except maybe Dodgers and Mets.

I do not want to jinx things but I’ll say this: Soto will entertain all offers and enjoy having the spotlight on him during the off season. Hell…even Judge did it and fans lost their minds when it was tweeted out that he signed with the Giants. He took a lesser amount to stay in the Bronx but it came with the captaincy. I can’t see Soto taking a lesser deal to stay with NY.

As for the WS, they’ve all gotta contribute but Judge needs to have his moment(s) on the biggest stage. Stanton is stealing all the thunder but I am completely fine with that.
