agree, hes taking the money and after that game 5 display and overal lack of hitting from the team, cant say i blame him. so, definitely will not be surprised if he walks.

Yeah he’s probably thinking screw this after that clown show 5th inning. He was the last person to leave the dugout after the loss. Perhaps enjoying his final moment in pinstripes.



Christ….Soto going to the Dodgers would be insane. If the a Mets cut ties with Alonso, I could see them aggressively going after Soto.

He got better numbers hitting in front of Judge , and he loves playing in NY so I doubt he wants to leave. Yankees will of course need to show him the money.

While I don't necessarily want this to happen, being a life-long Dodger fan it'd be hilarious if he lit it up against the Padres after they couldn't seem to do anything with him.

Plus it'd give me more ammo-banter against my son who "defected" and is a Padres fan. And being that I live some 40+ miles or so northeast of the S.D. border and get a good amount of Padres fans where I live (a lot of them fair-weather at that), I'd love nothing but to sport a Soto jersey in Blue lol.

Yup. I did love those re-sign Soto chants. As you said, Don’t mean a thing unless they show him the money.

While I would not use the word “overrated” his defensive skills are rather lacking and he won’t be winning any gold gloves. Not sure how that all gets factored in in the grand scheme of things during the negotiations.

Meanwhile you’ve got Judge running full speed into the fence making a miraculous catch that sadly no one is talking about once he missed that routine fly out in the 5th.

i think he was just taking it in. lot of guys do that as motivation for next year. i wouldnt take anything from him doing that either way.

No wonder Acuna was looking to get a new contract earlier this year. With team options, Acuna is locked in with the Braves for 4 more years at $17 million/year, which is an incredible steal. I don't think he'd quite get Soto money if he were a free agent right now (mainly due to injuries), but he'd probably get somewhere close - probably worth $40'ish million/year in this market.

Tampa Bay Rays will be playing their ‘25 season at the Yankees spring training complex in Tampa. It’s a 15 million deal. Still nowhere near enough money to sign Soto..
