It doesn't seem like the Yankees are going to be major players in free agency and may be serious about lowering their payroll. Their priority seemed to be signing their own free agents and making the Granderson trade. The only 2 major free agents left are Holliday and Bay and the Yankees aren't believed to be interested in either of them.

So did anyone get a memento from the old Yankee Stadium? They are selling bricks for $170 lol. I'd rather have a seat but they're expensive too. I'm waiting for someone to post a "brick sale" in the hot deals section...

Yeah, I've heard the Yankees are interested in Sheets and Justin Duchscherer, neither of whom played last season. Right now Sheets contract demands are extremely unrealistic, with him apparently wanting $11-$12 million a year, which he would have struggled to get even if he was healthy. I think both Sheets and Duchscherer are going to have to take small one year deals that are heavily incentive based.

Apparently the talk of Aroldis Chapman getting $40-$50 million was far off. The Red Sox have offered him $15.5 million. Chapman is working out for teams but he will only throw to a catcher and won't face hitters. Chapman has met with a lot of teams but it is believed the Red Sox are the only team to have made an offer.

they had seats that were signed by Jeter for 499.99 but they sold them all out


lol the phils are so dumb nobody can do more then lee did in the postseason at best Halladay will repeat that performance, and unless he can start back to back games they broke even.

I'd agree except Halladay has agreed to an extension for below-market value, rumored to be 3 years/$60 million and possibly with an option for a 4th year, and that's in addition to the year remaining to his current deal, so it's about 4 years/$75 million, with the Blue Jays paying $6 million of that. If Halladay had waited a year and had another good season he likely could have gotten at least 5 years/$110 million in free agency. The Phillies talked to Lee about an extension but he wasn't going to give any sort of discount and he is more risky considering he was sent down to the minors just 3 years ago. The Phillies didn't want to go into the season with their best pitcher a free agent after the season, and Halladay was who they wanted in the first place last year.

Yeah, looks like they got a good deal if those numbers are true. I just think now you have 2 great pitchers instead of a possible 3, and with the Yankees already at 3 and probably going to solidify even more, now the Redsox hopefully being healthy plus adding John Lackey they are 2 great pitchers against teams with 3-4 great pitchers.

I believe you are referring to the "seat backs"..still not a bad price. A full set is about $749. It's really not a bad deal hence why they sold out lol.

So no Jays fan providing their thoughts here? I for one, as a long-time Jays fan, am kind of torn. Halladay is an amazing player and has been for so long in Toronto so it'll be nice to see him on a stronger team, but on the other hand... he WAS the freakin' Jays.

Interest is steadily declining as far as going to a game now but maybe the guys they got will thrive...
