Can you can throw tons of cash at the other parts like the Yankess do, but without that core they don't win. Paying A-Rod a billion dollars for example hasn't really done anything for them. But Riveria being lights out as a closer and even a guy like Gardner on the bench stealing bases in the 9th has(who makes nothing really haha).

Without that core, the Yankees are the Mets.
The thing is many teams do draft well, but unlike the Yankees can't pay their talent $200 million to keep them once they are eligible for free agency. It's true the Yankees did well drafting the players you mentioned, but they've bought most of their other talent. They definitely couldn't have won the World Series without Sabathia and Burnett, in addition to A Rod, Teixiera, Damon, or MVP Matsui.

As I've said the only reason I'm in favor of a cap is that it would bring a floor, but you can't say the Yankees are successful because they draft well. The Brewers drafted well when they chose Prince Fielder and would love to keep him, but they aren't going to pay him the $200 million he wants, and the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, or Mets will. Maybe if MLB won't institute a cap they should institute a max contract so more teams could keep their talent, although the union would never agree to that.

I do agree with one part... once the Yanks signed Texeria I knew they had the World Series locked up. And yeah it was hard for any other team to get his attention. Even the Orioles tried to get him but no luck.

Not sure what is up with attendance this week, but the Blue Jays and Indians have set all-time lows for attendance at their current stadium. The Orioles had their lowest attendance on Monday. Wednesday the Blue Jays had attendance of 10,610, the lowest ever at the Rogers Center, which opened in 1989. Not to be outdone the Indians also set a low attendance Wednesday with 10,071 in attendance at Progressive Field, which opened in 1994.

It's pretty sad that attendance has fallen so bad for these three teams because of their rich histories. The Indians set the attendance record with 455 consecutive sellouts from 1995-2001. In 1995 the Orioles, Indians, and Blue Jays were 1-2-3 in American League attendance.

Well I know Cleveland fans are getting sick and tired of the losing history of their city, they're starting to think it's cursed and I don't really blame them.

Another great offensive game from the Dodgers, yet another stink fest from our bullpen. Kemp hits 4th straight game with HR. Ethier hits 2 HR's, including his first grand slam.

If we don't find a way to start scoring runs I don't see Trembley making it back from the roadtrip when NY comes to town...

Good. I can't stand him he looks clueless and zoned out when watching the games.

His time is over, as should the entire staff be cleared out.

Trembley needs to go and Angelos needs to sell the team... We start out 1-10, Cal Ripken offers to help out the team with their hitting, and Angelos turns him down... Seriously, aside from the dreaded 0-21 in 1988 this season could not look any worse...

Cal should have massive input into the franchise (or at least till we know he can't provide quality input), yet gets treated like Albert Bell would if walked in the front door I can't stand this front office and management staff... At least with my redskins they want to win, I don't know what this franchise wants but hopefully we hit the floor soon enough and something drastic happens.

Well the Jays finally played some decent teams and started showing their true colors (the Yankees easily beat the Angels already, can't imagine what they'll do to us). But hey, at least Overbay finally got another hit and improved his average to .085!

I'm more interested in seeing how Romero pitches against a quality team tomorrow. And it's going to be tough for Marcum to get his first win. He's always pitching against the other team's ace and it's much easier for them to shut down our anemic lineup than it is for Marcum to shut down other teams' lineups.

knew he would own as usual... Lincecum pitched 6 innings giving up only 4 hits and 0 runs... AND he went 3-4 with 3 RBI'S

Giants beat Dodgers 9-0

Seems like the Dodgers just threw in the towel when the Giants raped Haeger for all those runs in the beginning.

Great win for my Rays tonight! If you don't know last night's Rays/Sox game was postponed because of Rain! The game was tied 1-1 going to the bottom of the 9th when called! They restarted last night's game tonight and finally, Pat the bat hit a 2-run homer in the top of the 12th and the Rays win 3-1!

7-3 on the season and 4-0 on this current 10 game road trip!
