The trivia question during the Cubs game Saturday was which pitcher had the most wins from 2000-2009, and I was surprised to learn it was Pettitte, I think they said he had 148 wins. I would not have guessed him but then I really thought about it and there hasn't been a more consistent pitcher over the last decade.

Wow..ya I would have missed that one too. It's amazing that he's had so many wins in the past decade but he'll never get to that career milestone of 300..

I have pretty much zero desire to go to a Jays game this season, the initial buzz has worn off for me. Unless they go on a marathon winning streak...

The Yankees are looking great right now (have won all 4 of their series so far this season, including a sweep of the Rangers). But I know how you feel.

Last year when the Yankees lost the first 8 games to Boston, I was thinking "well this is great... even if they win the wild card, they might be screwed if they meet Boston in the ALCS".

It's a long season though, and anything can happen. The Yankees ended up winning 9 of the next 10 games against Boston, finishing 9-9 against them for the year.

Yeah not to mention my fios extra innings is trash compared to dtv's you only get 1 hd channel and no games saturday or sunday.

I really hope the sox don't fall into this mediocre state to much longer.

Yet another sweep by my Rays! First the O's and now the Red Sox! 10-3 on the year, 7 straight wins and are 7-0 on this current 10 game road trip! Bring on the other Sox!

Most of the best players in that era used performance enhancing drugs, it wasn't just a couple guys trying to get ahead of the pack. It's something that was part of the era, and unfortunately there's no getting around that.

The Cubs bullpen and offense is really starting to piss me off. Randy Wells goes 6 innings, gives up 1 run, and gets a no decision because the offense can't score, despite the fact that Wells had 2 hits. The starting pitching for the Cubs has been great nearly ever game, but their bullpen has blown numerous saves. They need to send Jeff Samardzija down to Triple-A or even release him. His ERA is 18.90 and he's getting shelled nearly every appearance. The Cubs waste so much money on offense and never focus on strengthening their bullpen. Their big money free agents haven't panned out for years and they still owe Soriano $90 million so I don't see them improving anytime soon.

I would guess this is Piniella's last year. He isn't going to want to stay with a team with no future and intense media scrutiny. Ryne Sandberg will be the manager next year. They've been grooming him for years and now that he's the Triple-A coach he's experienced enough to step into the big job.

Yeah it seems like they've done what the yankees did which is try to buy hitting when its pitching, pitching, and more pitching that will get those rings.

I watched that game and Its just shocking to see how bad Samardzija is, they should send him down and if he can start to fix his issues hopefully they can deal him to a contender for some picks.
