Ramon Ortiz. Why Torre continues to use this clown is beyond me. Thanks for breaking up our mojo!

Since you can't really have 1 catcher on your team, the Yankees need to call someone up... and quickly... as in, so they're on the bench for tomorrow's game.

It's most likely going to be Chad Moeller getting called up from AAA. He's 35-years old, made his MLB debut in 2000, and has since accumulated 492 games played (meaning he's spent most of his career on the DL or in the minors).

The other, far less likely, option is to bring up the 20-year old top prospect Jesus Montero, and let him get his first taste of MLB action. I want to see this guy play, so I'd much prefer for them to choose him.

Cervelli is obviously going to be the everyday catcher regardless, so why not let the 20 year old get a little MLB experience? Maybe a pinch hit here or there, or put him in as a sub for Cervelli, if the Yankees have a comfortable lead late in the game. He's supposedly the successor to the home plate throne, whenever Posada is done as the everyday catcher, so why not call him up? Maybe hanging out with MLB'ers will rub off on him a bit, which can only help.

Interestingly, if you Google Jesus Montero, you can find an article about him, in which the writer comes up with scenarios that might lead to Montero getting called up. The scenarios were:

1. Nick Johnson ends up on the DL
2. Jorge Posada ends up on the DL
3. Jesus Montero dominates Scranton (the Yanks AAA team)

Well, let's see... 1 happened. 2 happened too. Good enough reasons for me. Unfortunately he's not doing well in AAA so far this year (.229/.300 BA/OBP, 3 HR, 19 RBI in 30 games) so the chances of him getting called up over Moeller are practically 0%.
Cervelli seems impressive so far. I don't see why he couldn't step in as starting catcher with Posada out.

Well yeah, that's a given. The only question is who they call up to be Cervelli's backup. All signs point to Moeller. They've probably already determined who to call up at this point, but I haven't checked up on the news.

If anyone with MLB Network, you better put it on, because Jason Heyward is coming to bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, down by 3 and no outs!

I like baseball, football and basketball. I also watch hockey from time to time, though mainly in the playoffs.

As far as going to games I mainly only go to Orlando Magic games and UCF college football games (graduated there). And from time to time a Jags NFL game. Going to a Rays game just isn't feasible living in Daytona which is a good 2 hours plus from the Trop. The only baseball games I go to are local (Daytona Cubs) minor league games.

Holy cow...7 run, 9th inning with a game winning grand slam help the Braves beat the Reds 10-9!

BTW, this game was on MLB Network!

I like football, baseball, hockey, soccer, golf and then maybe basketball!

About the minors, we have the Lakeland Flying Tigers next town north!

If we're talking sports, the only ones I care to watch are baseball, football (college and pro), basketball (college only), playoff hockey, and some random Olympic events.

The older I get, the less I care about sports. The only one I really follow is baseball, and even then I only generally follow what the Yankees are up to.

Football is probably the most fun to watch, so I may watch a game even if I don't particularly like either team playing.

Basketball isn't an enjoyable sport to watch for me, so I only watch games involving one (or both) of two teams... my hometown college team, and my actual college team (one Big East, one ACC, so their games are frequently on TV). I guess it helps that they're both historically good, as well (both have won NC's in the last decade). Otherwise I couldn't care less to watch basketball.

For me it depends on whether I'm attending a game or watching on TV. Sports like baseball and NASCAR I enjoy watching on TV but don't really enjoy attending a live event. I live in the city that is home to NASCAR yet I've been to at most 3 or 4 races at Daytona Int'l Speedway in my life. To me it's just loud and annoying being there.

When it comes to actually attending a game nothing compares to football, either college or pro. Football is basically an all-day event. You have pre-game tailgating, which is especially amazing in a football mad state like Florida. Then you have the game followed by post game parties. Even college teams in the state of Florida without much national standing like my school Univ. of Central Florida have amazing tailgaiting.

NBA basketball is also a great experience being there live. Amway Arena where the Magic play really doesn't have a bad seat in the house. Even the far ends of the arena that cost around $20 have a great view of the action. Every Magic playoff game I went to this year I walked out with a sack full of free giveaways.

Charlotte, NC wants to have a word with you.

I've never been to a NASCAR event, but I went to school down south and it was pretty big there. Apparently it's a giant outdoor party where cars happen to be racing around a nearby track.

Going to live events is certainly more enjoyable for me, regardless of the sport. I don't watch much hockey, but I'll go to an NHL game, because the atmosphere is fun. I've been to an NBA game, and enjoyed the experience, but I don't care for the league otherwise.

Yankees tied it up again, 4-4.

The Miranda HR was interesting. First pitch, with the Rays playing him with a shift, he drops down a bunt, rolls foul. Next pitch lands in the 2nd deck for a 2-run HR.

Well I never liked NASCAR live events but small-town tracks where everyday joes go to race on weekends are very fun to go to. I went to the little track near Barberville, FL many times as a kid. You could back your pickup truck right up to the fence and watch the local guys go it at for almost no cost. That's the kind of racing that I enjoy watching live.

Ubaldo Jimenez is just unreal.

His line for tonight's game against Houston: 7 Innings, 1 Hit, 2 BB, 0 Runs

Assuming Colorado closes this one out he'll be 8-1 with an ERA of 0.99. He's not given up more than 2 runs in ANY of his nine starts. And we're talking about a guy that pitches half his games at the most hitter friendly park in all of baseball.

Rays goes to the Bronx and sweep the Yanks in a 2 game series! 30-11 on the year and now have a 5 game lead over the Yanks! Great outing by the whole team, even though it was a PITA to get that final out in both the games! JB and Zorilla, both hitting their first HRs of the season in this series! CP brokes out of his slump with 2 HRs in tonight's game! This team is for real!

Off to Houston for 3 with the 'Stros!
