I saw the win, on that note Ely had a great reflex catch too I think it was the 3rd or 4th.
And with MLB I have a hard time feeling sorry for players making too little money. In MLB contracts are guaranteed and almost impossible for teams to void. It's nothing like the NFL where a player can pretty much be cut at any given time and lose out on most of their contract. The MLB players union is extremely powerful compared to unions of other pro sports.

How the heck is Chan Ho Park on any MLB roster, much less the Yankees?

Fixed that for you.

If Target Field didn't play like such a pitcher's park, the game could've been uglier than it was.

I have not been able to post anything Phillies related other than WTF, lose, lose , lose thats all they know how to do right now. The Big bats have gone silent and makes watching them play almost impossible. I hope they can get it together soon or their gonna find themselves in a worse situation than they are now !!

He's making $1.25 mill this year. He's going to get a nice raise for his next contract.
You can say that again he'll get maxed out for sure.

Just imagine his stats if he was not playing at the most pro-hitter ballpark in MLB. His stats are still amazing even at Coors though. The questions will be does he want to spend the rest of his career with a team that plays half it's games at a pro-hitter ballpark. In the past the Rockies have had trouble holding on to and signing top-notch starters who don't want the extra ERA you get pitching at Coors.

This is amusing. There are 18 games separating the first place Rays and last place Orioles in the AL East. There are just 3 games separating the first place Phillies and last place Marlins and Nationals in the NL East.

Baltimore is 18 games out of first place 48 games into the season? WTF happened to that once great organization?

I'm sure Supersix could give you quite the explanation, but most fans would answer poor ownership.

I can accommodate that , Yeah ownership, poor deals on the few stars they've tried to get, playing games with some of the ones they have going to arbitration with almost every one of their good players (I dread the day when some of our younger guys contracts come up)

But, mostly I'd say Angelos is the big problem Trembly is a walking nightmare of epic proportions and how he still has a job is beyond me.

They low balled Teixeira who is from MD, and for awhile its been rumored that Cal wants to help, but would only do so if given a position of power and Angelos said no (recently after being heavily criticized said that never happened, but I'll never believe anything he says)

Phil Hughes is looking good early on.

Struck out the first 5 batters of the game, has a perfect game going through... 2 innings.

Ha, I never liked the guy! I don't get why the Yanks traded for him after one good season in Atlanta? Didn't he lose game 7 of the 2004 ALCS? That's like taking back your ex after she cheated on you, but then she promise it wouldn't happen again!

I don't know why, there aren't better! They have some good young players...Jones, Wieters, Markakis and Matusz! But, I guess management is the problem, like SuperSix has stated!

Florida Marlins baseball is so depressing. Whenever I see the highlights of games from Dolphin Stadium its sad to see someone hit a homerun into completely empty stands. I'm willing to bet Vancouver Canadians games sellout more than the Marlins do.

If there are 2000 fans at the game chances are half of them are Phillies fans living in Miami.

That should change in 2012 when the Marlins open their own stadium.
