well make that 10-1 with a 0.78 era for the season now

Giants scored like -2 runs in this game

What are the odds that Philadelphia will be able to resign Werth since it's a contract year for him? He's been sensational thus far this season.

The Phillies have the best attendence in baseball this year at over 45K per game and have the 4th highest payroll in the league. I'd imagine they have plenty of money to spend resigning players.

then what is the appropriate term for players such as gload, dobbs, ruiz, and valdez? sounds like bums to me and believe me i'm not getting ahead of myself with a win in May, but this is not the 2008 philly team

How embarrasing for the Marlins. No doubt plenty of idiots will this buy this BS.

Marlins selling Halladay tickets at 'face'

Here's a chance to buy tickets to a guaranteed perfect game -- the one Roy Halladay already threw.

The Florida Marlins will begin selling on Tuesday unused tickets to the game in which the Philadelphia Phillies ace pitched the 20th perfect game in major league history, a 1-0 victory over the Marlins on Saturday.

All tickets will be regularly priced at "face value" and on sale both online and through the Marlins' box office.

Paid attendance that night was about 25,000, a relatively large crowd for a Marlins' home game. By comparison, Florida drew a paid crowd of 10,115 -- its smallest of the season -- for Monday's game against Milwaukee.

Marlins have won 2 world series in the past 13 years, yet fans still dont come to watch games there..

Sorry but Florida doesn't deserve a MLB team

Florida is a football state as far as I can tell, I doubt they care much about baseball, Marlins or no Marlins.

That is true. And more specifically a college football state. Even pro football isn't all that successful in Florida. The Jaguars have never had good attendence and neither to the Bucs or Dolphins unless they have a championship calibur team.

Heck, the Florida Gators turn out more people for spring scrimmages than the Jaguars do for regular season NFL games.

But NBA basketball and to a lesser extent NHL hockey have flourished in this state.

As for baseball I could see one or both MLB teams relocating out of the state within the next decade.

I feel bad for the Devil Rays, they may be the best baseball team in MLB and as far as I can tell, most of Florida just doesn't care.

There are baseball fans here, but most of them are bandwagoners, though!

Considering the bulk of Floridians are from somewhere else where they were already fans of some other team I'd gladly take bandwagoners if it helps save the Rays and Marlins. They need them to get a solid fan base. Unfortunately it doesn't appear likely.

I'm a lifelong Floridian and even I have a hard time rooting for the Rays or Marlins since I grew up with the Braves.

And thats why I will vigorously root against the rays if they get far enough like before, I can't stand those kinds of fans.

I was a die hard Braves fan when I was young, too thanks to no FL team and TBS! I don't know why you can't root for the Rays, though, it's not like they are in the same league!

Haha. Can't blame them for trying. And I'm sure a lot of collectors out there want to get their hands on a ticket. A nice un-torn ticket would obviously more desirable over a used/ripped one from someone who actually went to the game.

Good point. And there seem to be a ton of Yankee fans down there (as if they don't exist everywhere). I'm not sure how much of it is old people from NY that move down when they get old, or because of Floridians being thrilled to see the Yankees down there every spring for the last 50 years.

I know all teams at this point either play in Arizona or Florida, but I don't know how long they've each been there. The Yankees have been in Tampa since '96, but before that were in Ft. Lauderdale for 30 years, and St. Pete before that.

Their High-A affiliate is still in Tampa, as far as I know. So whether you go to the minor-league game or the Rays game, you'll be seeing the Yankees of tomorrow.

How can you say, that? Most of the time the Yanks trade their future, cough...Austin Jackson...cough! I know they got Granderson, but Jackson is cheaper!

I saw Jackson during the spring and this guy is good!

I live very close to the Daytona Cubs Class A team (Jackie Robinson Park) so I do occasionally catch a game between the Cubs and Tampa Yankees.

I don't think it's all collectors that are going to buy those Halladay perfect game tickets. Probably just a lot of Phillies fans who will buy them and try to claim they were actually at the game.

In fairness the Yankees do seem to have gotten better at holding on to good prospects in recent years. They aren't trading them away for overpaid, big name veterans at the high rate they were back 5-10 years ago.

They got Arodys Vizcaino who is a talented but very young 19 year old. So far he's still in single-A but looking good thus far. They also received Melky Cabrera who isn't bad, though struggling this season so far.

Not sure why the Yankees pulled that deal. Vazquez is a mediocre career pitcher, stunk hit first stint with the Yankees a few years back and is stinking it up this year too.
