He's got Boras as his "adviser" and could go back to college and still be eligible for the draft next year if he doesn't sign sign so he has a lot of leverage. MLB Network will replay the Armando Galarraga's "Imperfect Game" today (June 7) at 1pm!
MLB Network will broadcast the 2010 MLB 1st Year Player Draft today (June 7) at 7pm! (Preview show is at 6pm)
MLB Network will show Stephen Strasburg first game against the Pirates tomorrow (June 8) at 7pm!

And thankfully in Canada instead of having the MLB Network we have the NFL Network, Raptors TV, Leafs TV, NHL Network, TSN, TSN2 (so about four hockey channels). I was watching it a few weeks ago in the States, even Baseball Tonight would be a bonus for us. That lineup sounds pretty sweet, I randomly turned it on and caught the walk-off grand slam from the Braves (versus the Reds, I think).

Thats very true, but I mean would he really want to go to the pirates or orioles at least the nats have some stability, but I do think they'll get a deal done, maybe not stras money but close.

Yeah, the Nationals can call his bluff about going back to college, because he's not doing himself any favors by holding off for another year. Things can only get worse for him (getting injured, having bad stats, going to a crappier team, etc)

Yep, right now the nats are by far the best option for a couple years not only will he get paid and eventually get paid again, seeing as how their management wants to invest in a team, but they are almost ready to make a run at a playoff spot...

Where as if you look at the crap contenders Pittsburgh (won't pay you), O's (will take you to arbitration year after year) not to mention pitching issues, Royals (won't pay you and really not much around the lineup to make you better)

I'd take the nats any day of the week of those trainwrecks.

Well if Halladay were not in the NL this year I'd say ya, you may as well give the Cy Young to Jimenez now. Halladay is Mr. Consistency and is having a great year too.

I just have a hard time believing Jimenez can keep an ERA under 1.00 when he pitches half his games at Coors. Sooner or later his ERA has to balloon a little? Unless of course he really is a cyborg programmed to never allow more than 2 runs in a game.

Carlos Silva has moved to 8-0 after the Cubs 6-1 victory over the Pirates. Silva went 7 innings and gave up 1 earned run. Silva is definitely the front runner for Comeback Player of the Year after 2 injury-plagued years in Seattle. This was a makeup game for the Cubs and Pirates after they got rained out last Wednesday and there couldn't have been more than 2,500 people at the game, although the announced crowd was 12,768.

I always feel the same way about Ichiro Suzuki in Seattle. Outside of his rookie year in 2001 he's played for nothing but garbage Mariner teams his entire MLB career. He's as great as ever this year hitting .358 and on pacr for another 230+ hits season. It's got to be frustrating being that good and playing 162 meaningless games.

I think that was sarcasm.

I wish my cable provider would pick up MLB Network. It's a municipal provider and they've been pretty good about picking up new networks. We got Big 10 Network and NFL Network right when they launched but for whatever reason no MLB Network.

I really like it much better then NBAtv. You believe our local station isn't putting the nationals game on tomorrow they want us to watch the O's get smashed when Strasburg makes his start.

But MLBN will have it, not to mention they are doing the draft tonight... Very good coverage in my op.

In my op as much as I love having Jones, Markakis, Matusz these guys who have potential hof talent could get wasted being here. As much as I'd hate to see them all leave I'd be much more upset if they blew their shot here.

I'm going to be curious to see how the Nationals use Harper. It sounds like he can play pretty much any position. They are going to have to decide if they want to keep him at catcher or move him elsewhere. From the sounds of it if they keep him at catcher he probably wouldn't make the bigs until 2012 at the earliest, and more likely 2013, but if they moved him to the outfield he could probably be ready next year.

I hate waiting for players , I'd love for them to leave him at catcher maybe our Joe Mauer (if he gets his tude readjusted, which is what I worry about him maybe sucking or taking longer then he thought and becoming a problem)

Did you just compare Harper to maybe the best catcher in baseball?
