Good god Bob Costas is annoying. Enough with the Walter Johnson and Nolan Ryan comparisons. It's his first MLB game. Just get it over and get on your knees in front of Strasburg already.

Strasburg better get used to this 1 to 3 runs per game run support. That's life for a Nationals pitcher.

He could step in as an active player right now and improve the Nationals. By the way, anyone know what position they plan on playing him? If he wants a nice long career catcher doesn't seem to be the greatest position for him. On wikipedia it lists Harper as a Catcher/OF/3B.

Well Washington did haggle with Strasburg till the last possible minute before signing him. Maybe ths huge crowd reaction to Strasburg will push the Nationals towards giving Harper a big deal fairly soon.

As of right now, they are going for RF. The have Pudge for 2 years, and another good young catcher in AAA I think, plus they do not know if 'Jesus Flores' (C) will be the same after his surgery. If he is, then they have no need for another catcher.

We will just have to wait and see.

Ya, it definately is. Mainly because most of the runs have been off of home runs. I hope they let Strasburg pitch one more inning. I HATE artificial pitch counts.

Not sure how many more comparisons to all-time great pitchers I can handle. Weird with all the comparisons I don't recall hearing him compared to Koufax. I better not put any idead into Costas's head or he might proclaim Strasburg the greatest Jewish pitcher all-time already.
