They need to sign Harper and start him tomorrow. Honestly, the Nats offense is so bad even Strasburg is going to have trouble winning games due to no run support.

Mets took the series from Detroit tonight and R.A. Dickey goes to 6-0. I'm hoping for the sweep tomorrow.

Uh, so I don't know where else to post this but FSU is playing TCU in an elimination game in the College World Series. TCU scored 1 in the top of the 7th and EIGHT in the top of the 8th (including a grand slam and a 2-run HR that were both CLOBBERED) to take an 11-7 lead. Ridiculous.

My girlfriend's father is a baseball coach and is an 'insider' and knows many 'insiders.' Apparently he says they are going to be switching from aluminum to metal composite bats in college not this upcoming season but the season after that (Spring 2012). Nothing has been announced publicly yet.

Right before stras got his first hit he got it the next pitch

I spent the rest of the game after they pulled him inside cause it was dAMN hot
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...-/258202bb.jpg

up until that point he had 1 of three hits I think zim and dunn would be ok if guys got on base but there leadoff and backend are just god awful but zim and dunn both have been getting worse which only makes it that much worse.

One team that is really slipping underthe radar is Texas. They are blowing out Pittsburgh tonight and about to win their 10th straight and 16th of their last 20 games. Vlad Guerrero and Josh Hamilton are having incredible offensive seasons. Even their pitching is better than it's been for a long time.

Nah, everybody is taking notice of them.
I think an equally hot team that is more under the radar is the Chicago White Sox. They're the best .500 team in baseball right now.

But yeah, Texas is hot. Can they continue it into August? They have a pretty good chance of winning that division because the Angels are the only other pretty good club...

So I had a very unpleasant experience at the Jays game tonight. Born and raised in Ontario, experienced the World Series', stuck with the team through thick and thin. Tonight went to the game, they lost 1-0 to St. Louis but had lackluster offence going. We tried to started a "RICKY" or "LET'S GO BLUE JAYS" chant and I was actually told to stop (and security told me too) because "We're in Toronto, what do you expect".

This was so disheartening. Right after being denied chanting rights the Cardinals got on base and I cheered my head off for them just to get a rise out of people; yelled out "F|_|ck YOU TORONTO SPORTS, WAY TO SUPPORT YOUR TEAM" and got alot of stares right after. Shortly after I walked out and visited a friend in the concourse, didn't return to my seat.

Such a disheartening experience, especially after being in NYC, Philly, Boston, and Chicago to see how real baseball cities treat their teams. Embarassing Toronto, so incredibly disappointed. I'm a little drunk now but I had to get this down.

And to think that Skydome (now known as Rogers center which I think is a stupid name) was the envy of everyone in MLB. Now they have a empty space in CF (where the Hard Rock cafe was now they covered it with advertisements) and they can't draw for jack.

Any posts tonight from me are going to be bitter towards the fanbase and drunk. Just a heads up. I wasn't wasted at the game, we went out afterwards but it doesn't erase the BBM conversations I had throughout the game voicing my disgust to other Jays fans.

Romero and Carpenter pitched gems, mainly the latter.

Rogers Stadium woulda made so much more sense. Centre sounds like a hockey arena.

I hate the Dodgers sometimes. What a bush league way to blow the game.

?!?! told to stop chanting? I have never experienced that problem. Were you chanting something offensive?

Maybe it's a G20 thing haha.

Fans in Toronto have had little to cheer about in 17 years.

You don't recall empty Yankee Stadium in the late 80s and early 90s?

Sox did great against Jimenez, banged him up for 6 runs and ten hits, ousted him in the 6th. Too bad Pap ruined the night with a blown save and the loss. Doh.

The Nationals had plenty of chances to get Strasburg runs, but blew one and got screwed on another. They should have scored in the fifth if Willingham had gone home rather than turn back to third when the first baseman bobbled the ball, and got screwed when Bernadina got called out sliding into home. It was close, but he was safe.

Yeah it was a joke he ran back, not to mention the missed safe call but if you watch the replay even though he was safe he slowed down and left it in the umps hands which I have no clue why he slowed down like it was a give away run... times like these I wish the young kids in baltimore/dc went to a team like the yankees where they'd get run support and enough help.
