That's because they are 'Sox fans. So did anyone catch the All-Star celeb softball game? My eyes were glued to the lovely Jennie Finch. She's defintely the hottest thing in softball.

Not the greatest but the most popular at the moment. His low # of starts may not have warranted an All-Star appearance but I still think he should have been selected. The game is an exhibition for the fans. Had the fans voted in pitchers I guarantee he would have been sleected and ratings would have been a good deal better.

The real problem I have is these middle-relief guys making All-Star teams. Middle relief is for guys not good enough to be a starter or closer for the most part. Unless they have mindnumbingly low ERA's they don't deserve All-Star selections.

I know its much to early to give him that title, the thing that worries me is he was like 6 less strike outs the Kerry Wood in his first 4 starts or w/e(can't remember the exact stat espn gave)

but I mean he could get hurt and those thousand dollar autographs could be worth the 6 bucks Kerry's is now.

Part of Wood's problem was the way Dusty Baker and the Cubs used him. They were putting far too many innings on him to early in his MLB career. Washington is doing things more carefully with Strasburg.

Well and also his throwing motion is so natural (from my hours of watching MLBN) that he isn't stressing his body the way some pitchers have to.

There are guys like Wood who when pressed break and guys like Nolan Ryan (and hopefully stras) that can just pitch, pitch, pitch.

I did want Wood and Prior to be great though

such a shame... Nats have potential to have a dual problem like that if either Storen, Stras, or Harper.

This is what the Yankees will be wearing on their uniforms for the rest of the season.

"The Steinbrenner commemorative patch will be worn above the interlocking NY on the left breast of the Yankees' home jerseys, and above the letters 'YORK' on the left breast of the Yankees' road uniforms. Both locations are over the heart."

"The Sheppard commemorative patch will be worn on the left sleeve of the Yankees' home and road jerseys. "

Honestly I have to say after this, I'm almost rooting for the Yankees to win the World Series in honor of "The Boss". Almost.

Just to chim in on recent events:

All-Star game gets its lowest rating ever -- I'm not surprised. I was even bored with the game, and turned it off. I'm not sure how viewership is measured, but I can't imagine people were glued to their TVs with the 1-0 game going on.

Strasburg being in the ASG -- originally I didn't think he should be, but then I thought he may as well have been, but then I saw the score and realized it wouldn't have done much to see him pitch for an inning or two; a 0-0 game would've been more boring

Yankees patches -- the Sheppard one looks nice and classy, the Steinbrenner one looks plain and trashy, like the kind of poorly designed decal you can buy in a local store and stick to your back window; they could make it look 10x better by just having the oval with GMS in it

I agree with the logo..it is hideous. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Only problem is I'll miss the game because it's on channel 9..

You have got to be kidding me. It's like when people felt sorry for the "poor" Yankees because of 9/11 and wanted them to beat Arizona in World Series even though they had won the last 3 World Series. Thank gawd that didn't happen and Mariano choked the Series away.

Now I'm supposed to root the them because their billionaire owned died of natural causes at the old age of 80? No thanks.

There are plenty of cities out there suffering worse than NY is that are far longer overdue for a championship.
