I'm almost embarrassed to say that I was at tonight's game. If it wasn't for that fact that I'm with the bleacher creatures (sec 203 FTW), I would have gone insane. There's still plenty of time left in the season for my Yanks to take back 1st place (2 months left to be exact).

Joe Mauer as a designated hitter - 4 ABs , 3 hits and 3 RBIs, not bad at all. Still lost 6-4.

Why did they start this Moseley guy tonight? In looking at his track record he's been a mediocre MLB pitcher at best. Seems weird they would put him in a game when they were tied for 1st this late in the year. Guess they're just shorthanded without Pettitte. Wood pitched pretty poorly as well in middle relief.

Today is the day when the Texas Rangers officially go on the auction block. It appears the only bidders will be Nolan Ryan's group and Mark Cuban's group. More groups were expected to bid but those were the only groups to submit bids by last night's deadline. MLB really wants Nolan Ryan's group to get the bid so they could prevent Cuban's group from getting the team even if they submit the highest bid, although MLB has said they'll try and work with the winning bidder.

MLB is going to do anything they can to avoid Cuban as an owner. They know he will start handing out bigger contracts to the players, which most of the other owners do not want. Personally I hope he gets the team.

He's just a doorstop until Andy comes back. Wood has pitched decent so far for us(except for last night).

I have the give the Ranger a lot of credit this year. They were not expected to do what they are doing this year (all of the "experts" were picking the Mariners before the season started). They have done a great job even though they are in a real financial bind. It looks like barring a huge collapse, they should cruise their way to the AL west crown.

The reason MLB wouldn't want him in the league is because he's a bit of a head case. I do love his energy he has for his Mavericks. It would be a welcomed change for the Rangers by their fans.

Youkilis is heading to Cleveland to see a speacialist about his strange, possible "career-ending" finger injury.

Not making excuses for this season, but this is the worst year for injuries that I have ever seen the the Sox go through.

Could be worse, they could have been like the Mets from last year.

You pretty much described Steinbrenner there. And I rarely ever heard the other owners complain publicly about him. And most of the small market teams enjoy their luxury tax checks they get from big market teams. I'm not so sure opposition to Cuban will be as strong as many think.
