Then it's just good for a few laughs and probably won't affect his career at all.

Adam LaRoche Not Drawing Much Interest

The Diamondbacks can trade Adam LaRoche to any team now that he has cleared waivers, but he isn't drawing much interest, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (on Twitter). That's a little surprising given the first baseman's 21 homers and .273/.340/.493 line, but it won't concern the D'Backs.

As Jack Magruder of FOXSportsArizona.com reported yesterday, the sides have had preliminary discussions about an extension. There's mutual interest in working out a deal, though talks have been general so far. Rosenthal adds that the D'Backs would prefer to sign LaRoche to a favorable extension and move prospect Brandon Allen to left field (Twitter link).

LaRoche makes about $1.1MM between now and the end of the season and there's a $1.5MM buyout on the team's 2011 option to take into consideration, too.

Braves win in the Ninth inning! It would be crazy if this team won a World Series for Bobby Cox when all those other great teams he managed did not win it.

I had a feeling the team would go all out for Bobby down the stretch. Even with the Phillies on a tear the Braves are staying a step ahead. Then again I really think in the end both the Braves and Phillies make the playoffs. I'd give anything for a championship in Cox's final season.

Also nice to see the comeback Rick Ankiel has had. I remember watching him pitch for the Cards years ago and thinking this guy was an ace of the future. Then he had a complete meltdown only to re-emerge as a decent hitter.

No way will Vazquez see a postseason start. More likely they go with Sabathia, Pettitte (assuming he's healthy) and Hughes in a 3-man rotation. And maybe Burnett as a #4 guy.
