I swear the Marlins always seem to finish at .500 or better regardless of what kind of team they have. They have the 5th lowest payroll in baseball. Now they snuck up to 3rd in the NL East at 62-60. No other team in baseball consistently gets the bang for the buck the Marlins do.

He does have a ring with Marlins but he didn't pitch for them in post-season. Therefore, he wasn't a contributor of their sucess. He got a ring with Marlins for doing nothing.

Now if we could only add one more quality hitter to compliment the beast that is Dan Uggla, and perhaps another good starting pitcher, then we could actually compete for the pennant. Damn, what a ride that would be.
Oh and you're right, Larry Beinfest is great at getting a bang for our buck when it comes to assembling lots of young (mostly no name) talent that's actually somewhat competitive.

Yes I do. I'm actually a big fan of the old-school guys like Ruth, Maris and Berra. The guys from an era when the Yankees won the right way. Sadly the last of those guys are dying off. Just because I don't like what the Yankees are doesn't mean I don't like what they once were.

I'm also a big fan of Berra. He wasn't just a great ball player, but an awesome personality as well.

In other news, the Dodgers are lighting Cueto up on his first game back after the suspension. Oh well. At least the Cardinals lost a few to give the Reds a decent lead.
