Same thing could be said for a lot of MLB franchises. The Yankees and Mets are two of them. Though in addition to profiting through a taxpayer funded stadium during a major recession they also lied about the cost of the stadium by a mile. I don't support ANY taxpayer funded stadiums or arenas.

Giants also came back today... down 10-1 they took the lead 11-10 only to give it up in the ninth.. its now 12-11 Reds going into the bottom of the 12th....

Whenever I go to a baseball game, I wear my Blue Jays clothes even if I'm not going to a game Toronto is playing in. There's nothing wrong with having pride in your team regardless of where you live.

Not really. This is especially evident in Florida where we have both a large number of northeastern transplants and spring training for a large number of MLB teams which results in a lot of fans for other teams showing up to Rays and Marlins games. Baseball fans are much more accepting of that sort of thing (fans from the opposing team) in their stadiums.

On the other hand just try going to a Raiders or Eagles NFL game wearing the opposing team's colors. At best you'll get nonstop insults hurled at you.

I see it a lot. I guess some just come to "experience" the stadium and see a game. I've seen all kinds of jerseys @ ball games.

ChadFL- The recent Rays/Yankees 3 game series had the most attendance in the history of the organization. Plenty of Yankees fans down there.

I didn't mention him because he hasn't owned a team for many years. He lost control of the Braves like a decade agowhen the AOL-Time Warner merger happened. Do you really expect me to name every owner who ever ripped off a city for new stadium funds? No thanks, I don't have that much spare time. We all know the list is VERY long. I mentioned the Mets and Yankees specifically because their taxpayer scam is possibly the biggest of all-time. Heck even Dubya ripped off Texas taxpayers during his disasterous ownership of the Rangers.

And what on earth does WCW wrestling have to do with MLB?

Ted Turner was a louzy owner.

I mentionned WCW because he also owned that and made it mediocre. Ex : Employing the wrong people.
