So the Sox are bringing up Clay Buckholtz to pitch the first game after the all-star break. But they are not down a pitcher right now (Dice K doesn't count, that was a 6-man rotation), so....sounds like he is trade bait. Rumors are circulating about a possible bid for Halliday, including Buckholtz and three other prospects.

don't worry your team still looks better then ours even in the future. I really wish we'd do what the A's are doing and just bring up all the young guys and see who can do what rather then listen to the franchise praise how great they "might" be.

I'm just worried they'd have to over pay to keep him in our division. I really wouldn't want them to give up 3+ guys who could really contribute later. Think yankees they wrecked their future by trading away all their prospects I really don't wanna see 5 years down the line the red sox in that same situation.

I guess... I just don't know what they could give that would let the jays trade him for anything under a land slide. I'm sure they are well aware of the rip job we pulled on seattle for Jones, Sherrill, Tillman, Mickolio, Butler

being from Atlanta, I was surprised they gave up Francouer. Were gonna suck a few more years I guess

Here's an interesting story on Red Sox prospect Casey Kelly. He was selected 30th in the 2008 draft and said he's sign and turn down a football scholarship to Tennessee if the team agreed he could play shortstop. He was viewed as a top pitcher by most teams. The Red Sox and him agreed that he'd play shortstop in 2008, pitch the first half of 2009, then play shortstop the 2nd half of 2009. He ended up pitching 95 innings with a 2.08 ERA for the first half in Class A but now will go back to shortstop for the rest of the seasons.

Francouer has sucked for two years. Great kid, good local talent, but he was not helping the Braves (except with his cannon in right field).

I think it's a good signing. It's only a $1 million deal so if it fails it's not a big deal. The Phillies need pitching help and I think it's worth the gamble. I did read he's getting put on the 15 day DL right away though, so it will be a couple weeks at least to see what he can do.

yeah it was! I'm just happy jones got the game winning RBI... Its still clear the AL is the dominate league.

Hill was great at 2nd aswell. I haven't really ever payed attention to him but I did last night. He is a BEAST.
