Yep Hill rocks... Jays have a great core of young players... hopefully we can pull a Tampa in the next few years... should only get even better once we trade Halladay for some top notch up and comers.

I don't think he's in the US yet because the Cuban authorities took his passport so he's pretty much stuck in Europe right now. He will eventually get in the US but from what I read it could take him a couple months to get issued a new passport. That was what I read when he initially defected, and I haven't read any updates recently.

I do like him though, it's too bad TJ surgery ruined his career as he was lights up before that.

Picking up Ryan is a fairly low risk move for the Cubs. I assume it's pro-rated minimum salary because Toronto is already paying him the remainder of his salary. The Cubs need more lefty relievers. Sunday against the Cardinals they had to move Sean Marshall to left field for an out because he is their only lefty reliever and they wanted to use him against the on-deck lefty.

yeah + he may be able to pitch 1 or 1.2 innings and he could become pretty good in a low work load roll.

same He looked to be great when the O's had him, hopefully he can fall into a good low innings spot and hopefully prosper.

Not looking good for the Jays so far, you can sense the frustration as I watch them play... can't score runs and bad breaks left and right(like that ground rule double earlier)... they have crossed a line and are having trouble getting back on the winning side. The news of guys like Halladay getting traded is making it worse... could be a rough second half!!!

after tonight I wonder if they'd take like 2-3 players and maybe a truckload of cash to pay off that wells contract. And then they'd give the soxs DOC!

nice to see Atlanta destroy the Mets tonight. Even after we send them Francouer were still tearing them up. Too bad were so far out of wild card

How does a team, 4th largest sports market in North America not make the playoffs for 16 years?!??! Seriously, and it has nothing to do with hockey in Toronto... from 1985 to 1993 the Jays were bigger than the Leafs no problem at all. The strike screwed us, first team to land over 4 million fans in a season and then starting 1995 after the strike, attendance declines begins...then Gord Ash ran this team into the ground signing hateful pricks like Clemens and total morons like Canseco... then a total chaos from '99 to 2003 where I can't even remember who played for the Jays except Delgado... then 2004 rebuilding to 2006 where we should have made the playoffs and then it's ben the injury parade ever since along with bad signings like Frank Thomas, Wells... etc.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that was awesome. Obviously i think the Cubs will a find a way to screw themselves out of another WS title, but i do love me some Pinella.

Always nice to come out of the All Star break with a 4 game road sweep against the Nationals. Hopefully the Cubs will keep it going against the Phillies tonight. Lilly is scheduled to start but we'll see how his knee feels and if he lasts more than a couple innings.
