I didn't say it would be the Twins, we need Punto and Morneau back and we need someone other than our top 3 pitchers to step up big unless we want to go into the post-season using a 3 man rotation, which would probably be a disaster.

Ya it doesn't help any that the captain is slumping. I think it was in '07 at the start of the season that Jeter went like 2 for 60 something..it was really bad. He needs to get his groove back.

This Yankees/Rays series has been a heavyweight championship fight. Crawford made the huge mistake by tagging up to go to third on two outs. It's baseball 101 that you never make the 1st or last out at 3rd. Well, we're back in 1st.

Not much you can do in this situation. It would have been interesting to see extra innings and the Giants probably would have won it then but they were shut out tonight.

7 game lead with Pavano and Duensing scheduled for the next 2 games, if it becomes 9 games, I wonder when the White Sox will just start mailing it in.

man, what a game last night! and i know the rule is to never get thrown out at 3rd for the last out... but in their defense, it was crawford running and Rivera was on the mound....they were down a run and needed every opportuniy they could get..... if that throw wasnt PERFECT then he woulda been safe....

The mistake Crawford really made was not tagging up on Longoria's flyball from first. He had to steal second and distract the hitter for several pitches.

Yankers are in big trouble, that's one tough schedule to finish the season, Twins or Rays may pass them for best record in the AL at this rate.

yea he made a mistake doin that... but had the same outcome really as he ended up stealing 2nd... so it wasnt that big a deal
