They will continue to lose and draw ten thousand fans a game if they keep trading away their best players. You cant claim to be rebuilding when it's going on past a decade like this! The sad part is they still somehow spend almost as much as the top teams in the league and have zilch to show for it.

Blame JP for that... he made some bad decisions and well some bad luck like BJ Ryan, Wells and even Glaus and Overbay to some extent... but some bad moves with Thomas... etc.

With Beeston there now and JP's contract winding downI think it will get better. Let's get the young core going and then spend the money again.

Because yeah, money isn't the issue in Toronto... it's bad moves and bad luck.

Haha i hope Halladay ends up with the Brewers and then signs a 12 year extension deal with them just to keep him away lol

I'd be surprised if he ended up in the NL. He's made it clear he doesn't want to bat, particularly after seeing some of his fellow pitchers get hurt running bases during interleague play. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get traded due to Toronto's high demands and Halladay's full no-trade clause. I would think Halladay would likely want a new contract before he'd agree to a trade as well, and there likely wouldn't be enough time for that.

yep, and its actually smarter to deal him while people are willing to dump their best players for 1 guy. Try to fix that wells and bj situation.

Twins got screwed on the last play of the game last night. That play at the plate wasn't even close, Cuddyer beat the throw and had gotten his whole hand on the plate by the time he was tagged but the ump was out of position and gave the home team a favorable call. Still, the Twins blew a 10-0 lead so maybe they deserved to lose.

Lilly just sucked last night for the Cubs. Not sure if his injury was affecting him or if he just had a bad outing, but 4 innings pitched, 9 runs (7 earned), will never get you a win. Soriano dropped an easy fly ball that caused the 2 unearned runs but by that point it was over. Hopefully Harden can have a good outing tonight. He's been struggling all season and against the red hot Phillies I'm worried.

So the Pirates traded LaRoche to the Red Sox for prospects. Just curious, if the Pirates are constantly trading their good players for prospects why don't they ever get better? I don't think there's a worse team to root for than the Pirates. Constantly trading their best players, haven't had a great player since Bonds left.
