Zito at least has stayed healthy so far throughout his contract. Mike Hampton's 8-year, $121 million deal was much worse. Hampton was horrible the first 2 years of the deal for the Rockies, who then traded him to the Marlins for a couple days and then to the Braves. Hampton had a couple decent years then after 12 games in 2005 he had Tommy John surgery and ended up missing the remainder of 2005, all of 2006, and all of 2007. He ended up going 56-52 over his 8-year contract.

very true... also zito would have a much better record than 9-14 this year if he had any run support... I think i read somewhere that Zito has the worse run support in baseball, or somewhere close to the bottom...
