Game unraveling quickly. 3-2 on a Berkman double and now Gardy's gone

I love Gardenhire. The Twins clearly got screwed on Berkman's at-bat. The pitch called a ball was clearly a strike, and Berkman should've been out. Instead, he stays alive for another pitch, and bounces one off the wall, to give the Yankees the lead.

But the reason I love Gardenhire is he came out to supposedly chat with Pavano, but the clear intention was to yell at the ump, who deserves to be yelled at for the call. That missed call could be the difference in the game, and the series (if the Yankees take a 2-0 lead, it doesn't look good for the Twins).

What about all those pitches that Pavano threw earlier that were clearly balls on the outside of the plate that ended up being called strikes throughout the game? anyway, Fat Elvis (Lance Berkman) has come through tonight.

Maddon got ejected under similar circumstances earlier. Bad call on a check swing, then the guy homered on the next pitch.

Every team gets victimized by bad calls, but it certainly seems like a few have led to some big moments. The "trap" from last night's game could have been disastrous.

Definitely...the game would have been a lot different. 2-0 lead and I will feel a whole lot better going to bed tonight. Bases loaded..it's time for the Yankees to get some massive insurance runs.

I didn't realize the game started earlier today, so I've only seen from the 4th inning on. A bad call is a bad call, and I don't think they cancel out. Even if the breaks went the Twins way earlier, it just means the ump is even worse than I realized.

Yeah, that could've been terrible.

Andy is cruising, but looks like it's time to go to the bullpen now. Probably Wood/Mo for 8/9 unless the game is blown open.

The MLB playoffs, for me, are a lot like the beginning (first week or so) of the season. For some reason I'll watch any game I find on TV, regardless of the teams.

I don't really do that for any other sport (except maybe football).
