Here's a good site for baseball contracts. From looking at the Rangers it doesn't look like they have many commitments aside from Young. Although expect Hamilton's arbitration to go thru the roof next year.

So basically every a-list free agent on the market. Yeah good luck with that.

I can hope he wants to spend money this year Its not that he doesn't have it, its that he's such a frugal dumb A** with it.

Maybe we could figure out some way to dump the wuss Morneau and bring in Victor Martinez so we can have someone who will actually play through injuries, yes I know the doctors told Morneau not to come back.

Yep. According to The Advocate magazine, Atlanta rates as the nation's gayest city, followed by Burlington, Vt., Iowa City, Bloomington and Madison, Wis. Don't bother looking for San Francisco, New York or Los Angeles -- those supposed gay meccas don't even place in the rankings compiled by the nation's oldest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender publication.

Though their research was admittedly unscientific, it's not without merit. Correspondent Mike Albo awarded points based on same-sex households per capita, statewide marriage equality, gay elected officials, gay dating and "hookup" profiles per single male population, gay bars per capita, cruising spots per capita, and gay films in Netflix favorites.

Wow. That's cool for our chances of landing Lee, but if you scroll down that list, a lot of the impact players aren't even signed through next season.

Really? Looks like the majority of that roster is under team control heading into arbitration. I've never seen a team with so many arbitration cases coming up. Are you guys just stacked with young talent or something, as I don't really follow Texas?

I'm not a big follower of farm teams so I can't speak on that but I mean with such young, and I mean young players like Elvis Andrus, at 22 and our haven't even hit their prime guys like Ian Kinsler, I seriously believe that, if what you're saying about arbitration is true, which obviously is, then yes, we're stacked with some young talent. Talk about your run-ons.

Yeah those contracts are pretty bad, but just look at all the deferred dead contracts the Dodgers have! At least your players are...you know...still playing on your team! Manny's contract is going to cripple our team for the next few years seeing as our payroll is going to keep going down thanks to our great owner. We're still paying Andrew Jones and Nomar for crying out loud...ugh. Get some satisfaction out of that SF fan.

If your organization is smart then they will offer the studs on your team multi year contracts before they get out of hand with arb. Regardless the Rangers are looking pretty good right now.

That Zito deal wasn't even a deal that looked good back when he signed it. Zito only had one great year in Oakland and was 55-46 with an ERA around 4.00 his last four years with the Athletics. All the signs were there that this guy was going to be an enormous bust in San Fran.

So far Zito has collected $61.5 mill from the Giants and given them a 40-57 record with 4.45 ERA. This guy has done about as much for the Giants as JaMarcus Russell did for the Raiders.

The Zito deal never made sense. He was paid like an ace, but had only been a third or fourth starter for a couple of years at that point.

How much money is Cliff Lee going to get in the offseason? That performance against the Rays just made him another 50 million dollars. If I was the Red Sox, I would do everything possible to prevent the Yankees from signing him. If the Yankees get Lee, you might as well concede the next two World Series to them.

Probably in the neighborhood of Sabathia's 7 year $161 mill deal. And I wouldn't concede anything. If the Yankees add Sabathia it probably puts them on par with Philadelphia's pitching staff. I'd still take Halladay/Oswalt/Hamels over any other staff in baseball. What would have been really bad would be if Philly had held on to Lee and signed Oswalt too. A staff of Halladay/Oswalt/Lee/Hamels would have been the best of all-time.

The Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla. They chose to pay him $1.19 million per year from 2011-2035 rather than pay him $5.9 million when they released him in 2000.
