Lee probably won't get as much as Sabathia because he's already 32 so he's probably looking at a 5-year deal, but he'll get much more per year. Buster Olney was saying yesterday he thinks Lee will likely get around 5-years, $115 million. It's possible he'd be willing to take a little less to stay in Texas if he likes it there due to the lack of state taxes in Texas.

There will likely never be a salary cap because neither the players nor the owners want one. The players think a cap would cause a drop in their salaries. The high spending clubs like the Yankees and Red Sox don't want to have to spend less and even the playing field, while the cheap clubs like the Marlins and Pirates don't want one because with a cap there also must be a salary floor, which would cause them to spend much more than they currently are.

It's not that done of a deal like what people think. Texas has no state tax while here in NY we have a high state tax. So that can come into play in the Rangers favor.

Yeah, we are pretty cool like that. But then again, there's the opportunity for Lee to reunite with Sabathia. And the fact that if they do get him, that team will go 162-0. But thinks for trying to make all us Texas fans feel better.

if the Yankees get Lee, I will stop watching baseball altogether instead of just being a really ticked off Twins fan.

Lee is a mercenary, who has basically indicated he is going to whoever pays him the most. I doubt the Rangers will be able to match what some of the big market teams are going to offer. Do not be surprised if the Angels get into the mix, their owner has deep pockets and likes spending on baseball. I really do not think the Red Sox want Lee, but they know their window might be shut for many years if the Yankees get him. I bet they are hoping some team outside of the AL East gets him.

You never know man. Remember when it was a "shoe in" that the Yankees were going to get Barry Zito when he was a FA (thank god we didn't get him) when he ended up signing with the Giants?

He'll be right back posting "Go Twins" as soon as the 2011 season starts.

The Mets are still paying for the mistake of signing Bobby Bonilla in 1992 … and they will be for a long time. Bonilla struck a deal with the team in 2000 in which it purchased an annuity rather than pay him the remaining $5.9 million of deferred money that he was owed. So every July 1 from 2011 to 2035, Bonilla will receive $1.19 million, with the total payments adding up to nearly $30 million.

Wow that's pretty incredible about Bonilla. I guess the Mets had no 13yr old financial advisor back then?

No, and it's a good reason I rarely ever watch baseball anymore. I've watched about 2 hours worth of postseason baseball so far and I'm not sure if I'll watch anything more going forward as the matchups just aren't every interesting.

I plan to watch some of these ace pitching matchups. But that's about it.

I can't wait for tomorrow. I think CJ Wilson will surprise a lot of people with his goods tomorrow. The Yankees have had some trouble with some leftys this year. And I remember how well our hitters did against Rivera the games here in Texas. I really do love our chances but am being realistic in that these are the Yankees, and even if we pull it out, who's next? The best team in the Majors, Philly.

I think the Yankees roll the Rangers in 5. Then lose to Philly in 5 or 6 games.

Yes, please doubt us (even though the Phillies are heavily favored to win it all though).
