As someone that just can't stand the Yankees, that was a brutal loss by the Rangers. Their inexperience and jitters showed as the game progressed. The series is pretty much over after that disaster, even with Cliff Lee. Was Darren Oliver being paid by the Yankees? He could not throw a strike to save his life.

Damnit!!!!! The Rangers had this one in the bag. Complacency always sets in when you get those semi-big leads early.

I had forgotten how much I can't stand watching the Yankees, especially Tex, Jeter and A-Roid. I hate the Phillies as well but I seriously hope they beat the living hell out of them.

I wouldn't say it's over yet, because who knows how the rest of the Yankee SP's will be. CC was supposed to be the reliable guy, and he had a tough day. They can't expect to rally from a 5 run deficit on a regular basis, so if Hughes/Pettitte/Burnett blow their games, anything can happen.

It looks like Lee is pitching in Game 3, so I wish the Yankees would use Burnett for that game, that way if he's terrible they can say "oh, well, we were playing Lee anyway, so we had almost no chance", but I assume it's going to be Pettitte in 3, and Burnett in 4.

That being said, a Yankee win tonight would go a long way toward ending the series, because even with a loss to Lee in game 3, the Yankees could still take 4 and 5, and end the series before it goes back to Texas.

I wanna know where Neftali Feliz, our "star" rookie closer was yesterday. I mean, we couldn't have really used him in the ninth, but I still would have liked to see something from him. I also wish I was as confident that we could give Cliff the run support he'd need to bag that win. I think that was our best non-Lee opportunity yesterday.

Yankees - $44 million
Lakers - $5 million

The Lakers are the most hated team in the NBA. Salary has nothing to do with it. Yet people forget that the Yankees have the most home grown players of their own farm system of any team in MLB.

Yeah just like thethe Braves were suppose to in the 96 series (and we all know how that turned out). Anyway, no point in thinking ahead. We still have a ALCS to play.

Yes because you can afford to keep them. These other teams come to FA with their players and cant afford them because of the Yankee factor. The Yankees then just dig them right up. Time for Tampa Bay to start over again!

Blame the fans for Tampa's financial shortcomings. Nobody goes to their home games. Hilarious that everything is blamed on the Yankees.

When the Yankees don't win the World Series, the anti-Yankee fans joke "I guess money can't buy you championships, lol, haha, rofl" and then when the Yankees do win, they complain that they bought it.

Pick a side. Money either matters or it doesn't.

It can certainly help you get to the playoffs, but from then on it's anyone's game.

It aint just Tampa. Think if Cleveland could afford to keep CC they wouldn't? The Yankees have ruined parity in baseball. Period. And we can't go back now thanks to the players union. Is the guy with the laker avatar really complaining about big market teams ruining parity? Don't they have a payroll twice the size of the regular salary cap? Aren't they able to spend lot's more money then most teams? I understand your argument but you can't complain when its against your team and like it when its for your team.
