Congrats to both the Rangers and Giants and good luck to their fans, it should be a great World Series. How does Howard take that pitch in the end? It's a borderline strike/ball that is not going to be called a ball at that situation. He's going to be thinking about that one for a long time.

Classless lol, just take a look at your post that is the definition of classless! Ryan Howard is one of the most well respected players in the game all around good guy both on and off the field and in the best shape of his life, the guys up there in the toughest situation possible and I don't really believe that your post has any merit at all plus your next post is another P.O.S. statement to berate the Philadelphia Fan Base yes some boo's were heard but there were just as many if not more applauding the Giants efforts to win the NL Pennant.
In any city > any where > the opposing team wins the Hometown fans will boo, ANYWHERE , ANYTIME , PERIOD. Grow up and get off of the Philadelphia bash wagon you just might feel better about yourself, lol.

It was a tough loss but my congrats go out to a valiant effort by The Phighten Phil's, I see this team right there in the mix again next year and hopefully they come out on top.

Congrats to you Nav , wish it could of went to seven but your pitching was just too much for my Phils, now go get some Rangers and bring that title back to the NL.
Let's Go Flyers and Thank You Phillies

It really is a shame that there is no in between for Ryan right now, He hits the ball into play he is the Hero, he looks at what he thought would be a ball and he becomes the scapegoat too bad but that is probably the toughest situation for any player to be in , man I could only imagine his thoughts at that moment I wonder where his heart rate was. I gotta love him when he is on , he makes it fun.

Why is everyone talking about that last pitch? I know it was the last pitch but really the K zone was all over the place in the postseason. If it had been another at bat I guess it would not have gotten much attention.

I'm going to have to miss at least the first 2 Spurs games this season. That's the first time I've had to miss one in a while. I've never had this dilemma but don't mind it. Go Rangers!!!

As expected the Vegas odds have Texas as a slight favorite in the Series. A straight $100 wager on San Francisco pays $110 for the series.

thats good!.. Giants have been underdogs all year, and they like it .... i see a close 6 or 7 game series, with most games decided by 1 run...

I thought this was pretty interesting... Bengie Molina will get a World Series ring regardless of the outcome. Sure you want to win with the team you are playing for, but what is better than that???

That's a bunch of BS. You shouldn't get a ring if you don't play for that team anymore.

ESPN has a pretty good list of what the Yankees need to do in the off-season.

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/m...ace&id=5717831

1. Resolve the Derek Jeter contract situation - May be easier said than done. Jeter clearly isn't the player he once was. If he expects another top-tier contract he may be pushing his luck. Leadership and experience can only go so far. As much as I don't like the Yankees I'd hate to see him have to end his career elsewhere.

2. Come to terms with Joe Girardi - Personally I think the guy is badly overrated and overmanages games. He'll be back though. Which may or may not be a good thing for the Yankees.

3. Re-sign Mariano Rivera - Mariano will be back. Though my gut feeling is he only wants a 1 or 2 year deal before retiring.

4. Whatever it takes, sign Cliff Lee - No-brainer. Lee has to be their #1 target.

5. Straighten out A.J. - Good luck with that. This guy has always been seriously overrated and not worth anywhere close to what the Yankees gave him.

On down the list they also mention Carl Crawford who is a free agent. I'm sure the Yankees will target him as well. Obviously the Rays can't re-sign him.

Depends. If the Rangers spend real money and make an offer at least close to what the Yankees offer I could see him staying. I'm just not sure what Ryan and the new ownership is winning to spend.

And honestly even without Cliff Lee the Rangers are probably still the best team in the AL West for the next few years.

Well, Nolan's made his intentions clear. And judging by Cliff's loyalty to the Phil's during last off-season, I think he's just tired of moving. And he's a bit of a southern boy. I'd put his odds of signing back here about as high as anywhere else.

Cliff Lee and CC have a really special releatinship. I guess their families have a lot of gatherings etc. So Lee will enjoy being in NY with CC and co. and their wives and kids will probably enjoy it as well. If he comes he comes. If he doesn't..oh well. The Yankees are really in a bind this off-season.

~~ Jeter isn't going anywhere. He is an icon to the entire Yankees organization. The Yankees want him there for all of their events etc. Just like how Yogi is so loved when he makes an appearance. It will be the same with Jeter. Now, the tricky part is figuring out where to put Jeter. Remember Cal Ripken? He went to 3rd. Wait, what about A-rod then?. There's dilemma number 1. You can't move A-rod to outfield because he sucks are pop ups/fly balls. So do you make him your everyday DH? The Yankees need a new SS. It's a simple fact. Jeter is getting old.

2. Come to terms with Joe Girardi - Personally I think the guy is badly overrated and overmanages games. He'll be back though. Which may or may not be a good thing for the Yankees.

~~ Girardi will probably get signed for another 2-3 years. Personally, I'd want someone else, but from what Cashman said he will be taking care of that business first.

3. Re-sign Mariano Rivera - Mariano will be back. Though my gut feeling is he only wants a 1 or 2 year deal before retiring.

~~ I'd say that's accurate. Mo will do another 2 year stint with the team and then call it quits.

4. Whatever it takes, sign Cliff Lee - No-brainer. Lee has to be their #1 target.

~~ I'll feel a lot better when Lee is in pinstripes..no question about it.

5. Straighten out A.J. - Good luck with that. This guy has always been seriously overrated and not worth anywhere close to what the Yankees gave him.

~~Umm FIRE Eiland. He sucks. A.J. needs a lot of work over the off-season. Let's not forget Joba.

On down the list they also mention Carl Crawford who is a free agent. I'm sure the Yankees will target him as well. Obviously the Rays can't re-sign him.

~~ Crawford is a possibility. What will you do with Swisher then? He is the spirit of the team. Even though he completely sucked in both post seasons.

~~ Then there's the Posada factor. He's done as well. Gotta get someone new in there. Jesus Montero is a possibility. It's going to be a crazy off-season.

Montero is nowhere near MLB ready. Yeah, he swung a pretty good bat in AAA, but defensively, he's no better than Posada and there is no way in hell they are going to have a 22yr old DH. He's still at least a yr away so the Yankees would have to get a stop gap catcher if Posada is not going to be the everyday catcher. With that said, they need to get away from the always relying on free agency and start focusing on developing on the minor league front.
