I cannot believe the Yanks didn't pick up Wood's options for next year.

Can't say I'm surprised with how aweful Vlad played defensively in Game 1. It's just one of those World Series quirks I hate. DH at the AL park, no DH at the NL park. MLB needs wither a DH in BOTH leagues or NO leagues. This half and half is beyond stupid.

LOL I can, Kerry Wood has been a scrub since he had all those surgeries while he was playing with the Cubs.

Wood gave up 2 earned runs in 26 innings with the Yankees. That's excellent for a reliever.

The Yankees beatdown by the Rangers was an all-around team effort I'd say. You don't get outscored 2-1 in a series with 1 or 2 guys playing bad.

It's old age really I think, the Rangers were just younger. Yankees still had a shot, Girardi's questionable management decisions made sure it'd be over in 6 games though. Well if Wood is that good a reliever, I wouldn't mind seeing him join our bullpen.

His resume is kinda mixed. He looked very good late in the year for NY but was absolutely terrible with Cleveland and quite average as a reliever the past few years.

Lets hope Matt Cain can pitch a solid game tonight... I doubt Giants can score like they did again.... i'm expecting a low scoring game tonight...

Makes me feel old since I watched Vlad play many years against the Braves when he was with Montreal when I was already an adult. I'm really happy to see Vlad finally make a World Series. He toiled away most of his career for the deadbeat Expos. Too bad he has to sit out tonight because he sucks so bad defensively. He'll still a very good hitter.

Yeah Vlad is one of the best players of this generation. I didnt realize that he wasnt on the 2002 Angels WS team; I guess I thought he had been with that organization for a longer time than he was. It would definitely be good to see him to get a ring before he hangs the cleats up. I think he belongs in the hall of fame for sure.

$11 mill for ONE year?!? Where did he get that crazy contract from? That guy hasn't been a really effective player for years now.
