Congrats to the Giants fans..I was impressed by their dominance. I had a feeling they would take the series due to the fact that they really upset the Phillies.

As far as the Yankees situ...idk what will happen with Lee. If he's happy in Texas then he will probably stay put. He sure has been moved around a lot.

Yankee fans tipped the poll in favor of Texas? Wow... didn't realize there were so many Yankee fans in places like Wyoming and Montana.

Just thinking, since the Yankees are easily baseball's most popular team and the Rangers dispatched the Yankees, most Yankees fans probably thought Texas was going to win. That's actually the impression I got from all the Yankees fans I know.

Negative. I was confident the Giants had the advantage.

Comments from Barry Bonds...

Quote:
"There is no city that deserves this championship more and I congratulate Bill Neukom, the entire ownership group, (manager Bruce) Bochy and most of all the guys on the team that fought hard to bring the trophy home to the city of San Francisco.

"I grew up watching my dad and godfather as Giants, lived out my dream playing in the same uniform in front of the best fans in the world and I just witnessed the Giants winning the World Series. I am ecstatic for the team, the city and all the fans -- you truly deserve it."

I agree with Wingman, that the Yankees don't really need him. He's better than their current OF'ers, sure, but I'm not sure if he's that much better to really put too much effort into going after him.

I do too. But I guess on the flip side, the team gets to celebrate twice (once in the away stadium, and a second time when they return home).

I'm not sure where this logic really comes from. On paper, the Rangers were the better team, and the logical choice. But that's why you have to play the games, I guess.

Now people who called the Giants are acting like they're geniuses and read the tea leaves properly, but there's the whole thing about broken clocks and how they're still right a couple times a day.

I'm not sure if that's generally how it works. I think it may be just as common (if not more common) for people to want to see the team that beat their team lose, as some sort of revenge. So in this case, I would imagine just as many Yankee fans wanted to see the Giants win, just so that the Rangers would lose.

The whole string of logic along the lines of "Well if the my team (e.g. the Yankees) lost to that team (e.g. the Rangers) then I want that team to win, so I can say my team lost to the best team" doesn't really hold up for most people, and especially not to Yankees fans, who generally believe their team is always the best, and if they ever lose, it's because the Yankees lost the series on their own, not that the other team was better.

Hre's the real determinant of who wins a playoff series in MLB:

LUCK > Great Pitching > Great Hitting > Great Defense

Or 3 errors by a second basemen also helps...

Seriously though Giants were very lucky to beat Atlanta that game... luck def came into play!

3 errors by the guy right in the middle of your defense? Talk about taking a shot in the pills, the most surprising thing is that guy is one of the best second basemen in the league, at least he was this year!

That's the really weird thing. The badly beaten up by injuries Braves really have San Francisco a tougher series than Philly and Texas in the playoffs. Every game was very close.

The only reasoning I can think of is it was the end of their manager's very long tenure in baseball and they were trying to send him off properly, just weren't quite good enough to do so.
