I say 4 years $60M with a $10-12M option for the 5th year.

That deal would sound reasonable. As for some people claiming he's an "average SS" these days I'd disagree. He's still above average and probably will be for another year or two. Plus you have to factor in his leadership.

First bit of news. Adrian Beltre declined his option with Boston next year...hardly a surprise. The one that does surprise me a bit is that the Rangers declined next years option for Vlad Guerrero.

I read that when the Rangers signed Vlad both sides decided the option wouldn't be picked up. The reason the option was put in the contract was so Vlad could get another $1 million when the team declined the option but the team, which was having financial hardships, wouldn't have to pay it until after the season. The Rangers are still going to try and re-sign Vlad.

He'll prob get a 4-5 year deal. AJ is getting like 14 mill a year so expect Jeter to be getting a little more than that....

and Jeter is still a good SS...he ranked in top 10 in all stats for a SS....played in the most games, recorded the most outs and even with his "bad" year, he was still among the top SS offensively....

A source told Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News that the Yankees aren't expected to pursue either Carl Crawford or Jayson Werth this offseason.
"We are better with Crawford, but at that price?" a team source said. "I'm not sure it's that good of an upgrade." The Yankees already have Curtis Grandson, Brett Gardner and Nick Swisher under team control for next season, so they will likely focus their efforts on upgrading their starting rotation. Brian Wilson could probably be a stand-up comedian. He's one of the funniest sports personalities I've ever seen. He kinda reminds me of that guy from The Hangover.
