They aren't gonna resign Prince Fielder either and he's a huge piece to them winning. I just don't get this move at all for the Brewers.

And now that I think about it, most signs seem to indicate the Brewers have to trade him at some point this season so they're not left with squat.

there had been some talk that the braves might have been in the market for him which would have been great...dayton moore was former assistant GM in atl for awhile so the connection was there, but now that aint gonna happen

Yep there was also talk around the winter meetings that the Dodgers would send James Loney and Jonathan Broxton from the Dodgers for Prince. Although in our case its highly unlikely with our lousy GM and owner.

Over the weekend Jen Royle of MASN reported that the O’s had offered Adam LaRoche three years and as much as $18 million. She has updated her report and now says that the O’s are offering LaRoche three-years and $21 million.

Looks like we might have offered too much oh well at least we seem like we've got him.

The Yanks missed out on free agent southpaw Cliff Lee and then failed to complete a trade for Zack Greinke. They don't have many other options remaining and are in need of some quality starting pitching. That's why everyone is assuming that Cashman and Co. will eventually make a big one-year pitch to the 38-year-old Pettitte, who posted a 3.28 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 21 starts last season. But the general idea — don’t get locked into Adam LaRoche and try to be creative — is a worthy one. How about Vlad Guerrero at DH and Scott at first base like Roch Kubatko suggested yesterday?

Nationals sent LHP Matt Chico outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
Chico was designated for assignment on Tuesday, but successfully cleared waivers and will join the Nats in spring training as a non-roster invitee. The 27-year-old southpaw made one start with the Nationals this past season and posted a 3.73 ERA over 26 starts between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Syracuse. It was his first year back after Tommy John surgery.

I'm all for second chances and drunk driving isn't typically deserving of a life sentence IMO. But in this case the guy deserves it. This fool was 3x the legal limit and a repeat offender who killed three young people and permenantly damaged a fourth person. Justice was done in this case.

Nick Adenhart's killer sentenced

A construction worker who killed a promising rookie pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels and two other people in a horrific drunken driving crash said Wednesday he had all but ended his own life that night by getting behind the wheel after drinking.

Andrew Gallo, 24, acknowledged his deadly mistake to the grieving relatives of his victims and said he expected to spend the rest of his life behind bars before a judge sentenced him to 51 years to life in prison.

Judge Richard A. Toohey gave Gallo 15 years to life on each of the murder counts and six additional years for the other crimes.

Prosecutors said Gallo, who was on parole for a felony DUI conviction, had a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit when he blew through a red light at 65 mph on April 9, 2009, and T-boned the car carrying pitcher Nick Adenhart and three friends.

Not only that but he was like on probation for doing it prior... He had his chances and blew it. Time to be a boyfriend till he's 60 or 70 and thats fine with me.
