SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Twins are "moving closer" to a deal with Carl Pavano.
Heyman says that the deal could happen any day. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported just over a week ago that Pavano was close to re-upping with the Twins on a two-year deal, and even though that proved not to be the case, it appears likely that Pavano will not get the three years he was seeking, unless it comes in the form of an option. San Francisco Giants get their own reality TV series

The San Francisco Giants will be featured on a new Showtime reality series chronicling the 2010 World Series champs’ off-season, spring training and 2011 regular season, Major League Baseball and the cable network announced Friday. The series “will give viewers a front-row seat into the lives of the players, coaches and team personnel as they begin the arduous task of defending their World Series title,” a statement said.

The show is currently in production, and a name is still in the works.

Could that article possibly be more biased? Offseason champions... are you kidding me? Even Jelly could write a more informative and logical article than that and his posts usually amount to: "OMGZ Yankees rulez!"

The way this all plays out is yet to be determined. The bottom line today is that for the 2011 season, the two best closers in baseball will pitch for the Yankees.

That in itself makes them the champions of this offseason.

And odds-on favorites to win it all once they actually start playing the games.

Pap and Bard at their best are still better


Rivera has lost some of his game and I don't think he could have the burden put on him like he did the year they won the championship... Soriano well I wouldn't take him over Bard.

Soriano has been a closer exactly TWO years. Before that he was an ok middle-reliever. It takes far more than that to determine if a guy is a long-term solution like Mariano Rivera. MLB is littered with closers who had 1 or 2 great years before imploding.

Pap couldn't even hold Mo's jock strap. Bard is a beast (he'll be pap's replacement as the closer when they let him go).

I didn't say he was better, but Rivera's lost allot which is fine considering his age.
