Without the steroid use I'd say he's a borderline Hall of Famer. His 240 wins and 3.88 ERA are both good and his playoff record 19 wins might have been enough to get him in under normal circumstances, but I don't think it's enough to overcome the steroid usage.
It was HGH.

I agree...they won't get enough votes. Speaking of monument park..when are they going to retire the old 21 and 51?

Not soon enough. In other Yankee news, according the Sports illustrated Jon Heyman on his twitter account, the Yankees are still in contact with Kevin Milwood.

Here's Andy's final act on the mound:

Its crazy to see the hit Clemons stuff has taken online, for a guy who would have been loved forever to now be where he is... SAD.

If I had a vote I'd probably vote for Posada as a HOF'er. By catcher standards his numbers, along with 4 championships seem Hall worthy to me. As other have said, Pettitte is borderline. I wouldn't have a prolem with him eing voted in. He won't make it though because of HGH. HOF voters have made it crystal clear that even a hint of drug use and that player won't even come close in the balloting to make it. Just watch, I guarantee Pettitte doesn't break 20% for many years in the HOF balloting, far below the 75% needed.

As for monument park, what's the standards for that? I thought only Yankee legends made it there. Pettitte had an outstanding career but I thought you had to be closer to the Ruth/Mantle/DiMaggio/Berra/Jeter level to land a spot in monument park.

No. There are players who are not in that group that are in there. Basically, they have had to made a impact while being a Yankee. Pettitte is a Yankee legend.

Also, whether you believe it or not, he said he used HGH to recover quicker from an injury...either way he still used it but not to the same effect as say Clemens or Bonds

According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees have "kicked around" the thought of making trade offers for Scott Kazmir and other lefties.
The Angels' Joe Saunders, Oakland's Gio Gonzalez and the Padres' Wade LeBlanc and Clayton Richard have also been considered. But these are "just ideas" for now, according to Rosenthal. The Yanks are scrambling to find a reliable starter in the wake of Andy Pettitte's retirement. They do have a healthy farm system, but trades can be difficult this late in the offseason. Carmona could be a decent #4 or 5 starter. You just never know what you're going to get with that guy. He's had two very good seasons (2007, 2010) and two terrible seasons (2008, 2009).

On the plus side, he's young.

I just don't get it. Vlad is still a .300+/28+ HR/100 RBI type of player and a possible future HOF'er. It's kind of hard to believe no team would give him more than 1 year at $8 mill. I know he's 35 but you'd think he could at least pickup a deal more along the lines of 2-3 years at $10+ mill per year.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Cardinals are balking at Albert Pujols' asking price, with sources painting "an increasingly pessimistic view of the negotiations."
Rosenthal said Pujols wants a deal that reflects his status as the game’s best player, which means he's likely asking for more, at least on an annual basis, than Alex Rodriguez's 10-year, $275 million contract. While Rosenthal correctly points out that a breakthrough in negotiations could be just a phone call away, things are looking bleak at this point. Pujols and his agent, Dan Lozano, have set the beginning of spring training as the deadline for extension talks, so the two sides don't have much time to close the gap. Feb. 5 - 2:04 pm et

I think Pujols knows that. He's just trying to play hardball and get as much as he can from the Cards. I still don't buy him actually leaving even for a second. My guess is in the end he'll fold and take a deal for something like 5 or 6 years at $20 mill or a little more per year.

I would say in the 20-25 mil per year range.
