Anyone else find it weird that A-Rod apparently lost his cool bigtime at Fox for showing Cameron Diaz feeding him popcorn at the Super Bowl? There are a lot of potentially embarrassing situations a celebrity like A-Rod can find themselves in but being hand fed popcorn on national TV by an attractive actress isn't one of them. I can't believe a guy whose played in the NYC media market for this long still has such poor media/public relations skills. By making a fuss over Fox showing him at the Super Bowl all he did was make the story that much bigger.

Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities hears that the Twins are indeed discussing the possibility of trading Francisco Liriano.
This confirms a story by Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Pelissero writes that the Twins are in no rush to deal Liriano, who is under team control through 2012, but they would be willing to part with him if the right offer came along. Not surprisingly, he names the Yankees and Rangers as two possibilities. A deal makes some sense if the organization feels they wouldn't be able to sign him to a long-term deal or if they simply aren't willing to gamble on his health, but a trade would be a tough sell for Twins fans.

Several different sources basically reported a similar story. A large number of celebrites were shown during the Super Bowl on live national TV. A-Rod is the only one to complain about it. Seriously, who expects publicity when they're famous and at the biggest American sporting event of the year?

New York Yankees star third baseman Alex Rodriguez went "ballistic" after FOX cameras cut to him and Hollywood gal pal Cameron Diaz during Super Bowl XLV, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed source.

FOX cameras caught the superstar couple between plays just as Diaz was feeding the Yankees' slugger popcorn.

"He really went ballistic -- thinking the cameraman was out to get them in a paparazzi-like shot…" a FOX insider told the Sun-Times. "Anyone who knows anything about producing a live sports event, especially something as huge as the Super Bowl, would know that those celebrity shots are purely random."

The source claims A-Rod was not feeling the love and was reportedly given a guarantee that he would not be televised to the 111 million Super Bowl viewers again.

"That's one reason you saw so many shots of [former] President and Mrs. Bush," the source said. "They didn't seem to mind being shown on camera"

Oh the media always blows these things out of proportion. Thing is the incident would have died within 5 minutes had A-Rod just ignored the cameras and said nothing about it.
