I'm more concerned about all the errors the Cubs are committing. I know it's early in spring training and the players are not used to live action but it could still get in their heads. I'm going to see them next Wednesday so hopefully they start playing better.

Delmon Young will no longer make his spring debut on Saturday after his case of turf toe "acted up" on Friday.
He's expected to be sidelined for at least a few more days. Young's injury isn't yet a concern, but turf toe has a tendency to linger for much longer than expected, and it wouldn't be surprising if he's still 7-to-10 days away from game action.

For what it's worth these are Athlon Sports 2011 MLB predictions. Decent picks, though I'm not buying into all the hype over Boston. At best Boston is marginally better than NY, and that's if they have good luck with injuries, unlike last season. I also wouldn't pick St. Louis to win the NL Central. That team already has injury and possible personnel (Pujols) issues. I'll bet Milwaukee or Cincinnati take that devision.

Barring a high number of injuries to Philly's starting pitching Atlanta won't come close to the NL East title. But I do think they have an excellent shot at another Wild Card. I like the offseason moves we made and our minor league system is stacked right now.

Most notable is 1st Baseman Freddie Freeman. He's 21 and poised to become their starter this season. He coudl easily become a reliable 20+ HR, 100+ RBI player very quickly. And right handed pitcher Julio Teheran is rated the #1 overall minor league prospect by some.

braves had dominant pitching the entire decade of the 90s and won 1 WS title....phillies lineup is much weaker and utley is already hurting....Julioooo is the #1 rated pitching prospect indeed, though there are several hitters that are rated slightly higher by some rankings

I think the Phillies of this upcoming season have rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way. Much like the Miami Heat it seems they are trying to 'buy' a title for lack of a better word, and they are going to face stiff opposition from the fans every time they are on the road. Having said that, I think they will be considerably more successful than the Heat and come very close to winning 100 games.

My old boss at work is a bigtime fan of all Philly teams and ALWAYS complained about how the Yankees bought championships. Weird how his team bought all the best pitchers money can buy and he's suddenly quiet on the issue.

And that is a myth because they really only bought 1 and that was in 09. All the others in the late 90s/2000 were a combo of home grown talent and a bunch of veteran players they already had before they started winning, traded for during the offseason or during the season.

Miguel Cabrera threatened the lives of patrons at a Florida bar before his February DUI arrest.
The story just keeps getting worse for Cabrera. According to a police document released Wednesday, the slugger walked into Cowboys Bar-B-Q & Steak Co after last call and was asked to leave. He ignored that request and then told a group of people at a nearby table that he had a gun in the bag he was carrying. "You don't know me," Cabrera told a manager moments later. "I will kill you. I know all of you, and I will kill all of you and blow this place up." He has enrolled in behavioral counseling.

I went to the Cubs-Royals spring training game yesterday. It was a good time even though the Cubs got spanked. It was kind of funny how after the fifth inning all the Royals starters left the stadium, as from what I've read starters usually don't stay for the whole game. I'll post some pictures next week when I'm back home because I forgot to bring the cord that connects my phone to my computer, although the pictures aren't great because my Blackberry camera sucks. I kind of wish I had gone to today's game because they are doing a tribute to Ron Santo and putting up a plaque of him but it was a good time either way.
