i think the Yanks are just throwing stuff at the wall in the 1st half of the season hoping they can get a big pitcher by July 31

Anyone know if Bartolo showed up to camp in shape? The guy could probably still be a decent #4 or 5 pitcher if he actually stayed in shape. Not sure what his weight is at these days.

Hell nah!! My McCourt hate this year is going to keep me from going to many games this year. I might go to a couple cheap ones just to take the kids. My friend has a friend that works for the team so hes able to get us some tickets.

we all know what Bart is, 265, it a good shot in the dark, like 5yr ago they got 8 or 9 wins out of Aaron Small then like cut them, whatever it to win

ESPN the magazine has a few really silly projections. The worst is that they have the Yankees finishing 3rd in the AL East behind Boston (I can go along with that) and Tampa Bay (BS). There's no way Tampa is going to beat out the Yankees barring massive unforseen injuries to NY and Tampa Bay having a damn near perfect season. I'd love for Tampa to still compete with NY and Boston but I don't think it's likely this year. More likely they're about a .500 team. Though their minor league system is still stacked, so they could bounce right back atop the AL East within a few more years.

I don't understand why baseball doesn't have the Giants opening the season tonight. I'm in no way a Giants fan but I think the defending World Series champions should get a showcase game to open the season, rather than being the sixth game of the day (and third on ESPN). I also think the Giants should open the season at home. They play the Dodgers multiple times so it wouldn't have been that difficult to swap the home team for the opening series.

It would of been nice to open the season at home, after just winning our first World Series in SF.... But honestly doesnt really bother me... Dodgers/Giants, Lincecum vs Kershaw is a great way to open the season... only 1 more day
