I'd just like to point out that the last 6 times the Kentucky basketball team has won the NCAA tournament the Yankees have won the World Series, so you should decide who you root for in the UConn-Kentucky game based on how you feel about the Yankees.

Considering the Yankees have won roughly 1/4th of all the World Series championships since the beginning it's really not all that surprising they'd happen to win it when Kentucky basketball does. But I do agree, the Yankees MUST bring in another good starter to have a real chance at contending this year. I could see them getting nervous mid-season and throwing a lot of money at Pettitte to return.

I'll be surprised if the Yankees don't have Francisco Liriano or Felix Hernandez by the All Star break.

I'm well aware of the financial division in the Majors. When the Bucs and Royals (perennial contenders throughout the 70's) continually finish under .500 (18 straight years for the Bucs) and finish last EVERY year, then they're nothing more than Minor league teams that get to fly as opposed to riding the bus. We finished 8 games over last year without Halladay and with Lind and Hill having brutal years. This is in the toughest division in ALL of sports. We may surprise some people, but I EXPECT post season play this year.....seriously. ![]() |

You have higher expectations than me. I'll be at the dome (please, don't call it Rogers Centre, eek!) on Friday night. But I'd be shocked if the Jays were to achieve even third place in the AL East.

That's Awesome, and I have yet to call it the Roger's Centre. What an idotic name. Who in their right mind calls a ballpark a "Centre". It certainly indicates how much the "communications" family understands sports. ![]() My expectations are always high. I expected the Leafs to be in the post season as well. ![]() |

According to CNBC's Darren Rovell (via Ticketnow) the highest average home opener ticket price on the resale market is for the Red Sox at $190.29, followed by the Rangers at $173.18 and Reds at $152.00. The lowest price is by far the Rays at only $6.00, followed by the Braves at $24.67 and Giants at $25.34. I knew the Rays didn't have a great fan base but I didn't realize it was that bad.
http://content.ticketsnow.com/graphi...omeOpeners.pdf I'm planning on attending the Diamondbacks home opener next Friday versus the Reds and there's tickets available for $4.00. I'm planning on getting some decent tickets in the $20 range. Last edited by fatediesel; 03-31-2011 at 04:56 PM. |
