This is very sad. He was so young and just finished pitching his first MLB Game. Throw the book at the idiot who did this. RIP Adenhart!

I read this as well. Very sad. My thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Nick Adenhart.

On another note, if in fact the alleged driver is found guilty of both DUI and/or Hit/run, then yes, I hope the fullest extent of the law is applied, first offense or not. There are few excuses, if any, to leave the scene of an accident.

That really makes me mad remembering a guy in our neighborhood whose life might have been saved if the irresponsible jerk that hit him had done the right thing and stopped and at least called 911. Instead he panicked and left him for dead. His only excuse? He was drunk and afraid of getting caught. NOT ACCECPTABLE

TMZ is reporting that the guy had a history of DUIs and was driving on a suspended license. He also was believed to be under the influence. This guy belongs in prison for the rest of his life.

There has to be some changes to our motor vehicle laws. This really pisses me off. The consequences for driving under the influence and/or without insurance is just plain weak in this country. I can't believe how many repeat offenders are allowed to even operate a motor vehicle ever again in their life and people who drive without insurance should serve mandatory jail time on top of the cheap fine that they pay.

Bottomline is the reason why these idiots are driving vehicles illegally is because they know it's just a slap on the wrist.

Knew it... why does nothing ever happened to the driver who was drunk!? If they dont care about their lives, fine, but to put other people in risk and always seems nothing ever happens to ones responsible. I hope they throw the book at this guy!

This guy (the murderer) has been arrested multiple times for DUI. What does it take for the law to realize that a simple action of suspending their liscense does nothing?
