Wonder why the Rangers haven't pulled their reliever yet, he's already given up 5 runs and pretty much iced the game for Minnesota. 9-2 in our last 11, again have to wonder where that was earlier in the season.

Tommy Hanson with 14Ks for the Braves today against the Astros in a 4-1 game. Liriano isn't the only one pitching lights out today.

The Red Sox are just destroying opponents of late. They outscored the Jays 35-6 in a 3 game series sweep and the Yankees 25-13 the prior 3 game set.

Liriano did well through 8 innings, should've let him pitch the 9th and get another complete game. 6-1 win is still nice though.

Oh yeah! 9-2 in our last 11 games! If only we played like this all season.

A cool fact about the Atlanta Braves, who won today.

From Elias: The Braves' 4-1 victory in Houston on Sunday night not only moved them 10 games above .500 for the first time this season, but it lifted the franchise's all-time record to 9983 wins and 9982 losses. The Braves franchise, of course, was a charter member of the National League in 1876, and the team went 19-19 in its first 38 games that year. Then on July 25, 1876, Boston defeated New York, 11-1, to go to 20-19 - and the team stayed above .500 (high point: 523 games above .500 in April 1903) until June 3, 1923, when the Braves lost to the Brooklyn Dodgers, 7-6, evening Boston's record at 3084-3084. A 9-7 loss to the Phillies the next day dropped the Braves a game below .500 - and they had stayed below the .500 mark ever since - for over 88 years, until the win over the Astros on Saturday night! The low point came on April 20, 1991, when the Braves lost to the Reds, falling to 526 games below the break-even mark. But that same 1991 team started the big climb back to .500 by winning the National League championship that year; now, 20 years later, the team is back above the .500 mark for the first time since 1923!

Yeah man, loving their play lately. Three series sweeps in a row.

AJ Burnett in a pitcher's duel headed into the 8th, Yanks losing 1-0, wonder which pitcher will fail first.

What's up with the Yankees offense? They lost 1-0 tonight with just 5 hits. Nobody in their starting lineup is batting over .285 for the season.

Wow first Posey, and now we may have lost Freddy Sanchez for the year to a dislocated shoulder that might need surgery... , at least we got Panda back who was on quite a tear before he was injured... Giants have been out scored this year, but we have won the most 1 run games in the MLB

How were still in first place is beyond me... Not by much though

Jeter and Posada and Rodriguez are just too old, I guess the other hitters aren't picking up the slack. Hopefully now the Twins will finally be able to beat them consistently but I will believe it when I see it.

Not to mention that besides CC and a rejuvenated Colon, their pitching is pretty atrocious... They need to make some moves before the deadline or they could be in danger of not making the playoffs.... The way the Red Sox are playing they can very well take off with that division...

I was waiting on word about Freddy. Thats such a shame as he was having a terrific year as our best hitter thus far.

Big Series for the Giants this week as we hold half a game lead over the D-backs, Giants are up 5-0 already...

Could get interesting once Zito is back. Can't have enough pitchers though. Maybe someone will go to bullpen.

Zito will be in the bullpen, Ryan Vogelsong has pitched great since taking over Zito's #5 spot.... Hope he stays there...

Edit: Here are his numbers since taking over Zito's spot in the rotation... In 5 starts... 4-1 with a 1.68 ERA

Maybe they will sit Bumgardner. Zito is really clutch early on he just can't go the distance anymore late in the season.

Avatar bet for our upcoming series, since you still think the Giants are better than the red-hot Twins right now?
