What are you talking about? We won that game fair and square. It was a terrific call by that ump.

Just like I think the tuck rule was the right call (although according to the rule book it was the right call).

The trade is official. Beltran has 24hrs to accept the deal or not since he has a no trade clause (he'll more than likely take it since he wants to go to a contender).

I watched the first 13 innings of the game. The way that I look at it, that blown call in the 19th was retribution for an entire game's worth of blown strikes-and-balls calls that went against the Braves. That ump was calling strikes that were balls for the Pirates and balls that were strikes for the Braves all game long, which led Nate McClouth to argue the second time that he struck out on an obvious 'ball.' The ump immediately tossed both McClouth and the manager Gonzalez, and later in the game around the 10th or 11th, hitting coach Terry Pendleton had to run off the bench to prevent Dan Uggla from getting tossed for arguing another terrible call.

He already said he would go to SF, so I can't see that being a problem. I'll be sad to see him go, but it sounds like the Mets did well in the trade.

Looks like Wheeler will wear Metropolitan jerseys rather than the orange and black. At least our offense will get a shot in the arm. With Posey out for the season and Freddie Sanchez questionable we needed it.

The White Sox, Blue Jays and Cardinals completed what amounted to a three-team trade on Wednesday that sent right-hander Edwin Jackson to St. Louis and outfielder Colby Rasmus to Toronto, and nine other players changing teams, with as many as three more to be named later.

The White Sox got reliever Jason Frasor and pitching prospect Zach Stewart from Toronto in exchange for Jackson and third baseman Mark Teahen. About two hours later, the Blue Jays sent Jackson to the Cardinals, along with relievers Octavio Dotel and Marc Rzepczynski and outfielder Corey Patterson and three players to be named later or cash, and received Rasmus, left-handers Brian Tallet and Trever Miller and right-hander P.J. Walters.

So it looks like the deal is, Giants trade B prospect pitcher Zach Wheeler, for Beltran, and the Mets will pick up $4 of the remaining $6mil left on his contract, while im upset the Giants traded Wheeler, Im VERY happy we finally got a much needed bat in the lineup, Beltran/Sandoval will def be a threat at 3/4.. Hope hes in the lineup tomorrow...

Yep, you were right, sure glad the Phillies didnt get him..

Hope it works our for us, not sure what our chances of keeping him after this year are... a line up consisting of Sanchez/Posey/Beltran/Panda would be sweet...
