He didn't want to waive his no trade clause. I wouldn't be surprised if my Yanks do make any deadline moves. The Rockies want everything and the kitchen sink for Jimenez while they are trying to do the used car salesman routine while he hasn't been the same pitcher since last years AS break. I give Cashman huge kudos for sticking to his guns when he said that they are not going to make any deals out of desperation or just for the sake of making a deal.

Colorado Rockies ace Ubaldo Jimenez was still scheduled to make what could be his final start for Colorado on Saturday night.

But he might be traded before he makes it to the mound, according to executives of two teams who have spoken to the Rockies.

The Rockies remained in active negotiations with several clubs late Saturday, and one of them -- the Cleveland Indians -- scratched their top pitching prospect, left-hander Drew Pomeranz, from his start Saturday for Double-A Akron.

He's been pulled from his start. They said it during the Yankee game (while we're ***** slapping the O's around). 12-0 and it's still the bottom of the 1st.

Dan Uggla has blasted a three-run HR for the second game in a row; his hit streak is now at 21 games, and he leads the Braves with 20 HRs on the season. He's currently filling a pretty big hole in the lineup with Chipper hurt and McCann on the DL.

So are we finally done shitting on him for being below the Mendoza line? (he's up to .207 from .173, meanwhile Adam Dunn has dropped to .164)

ESPN is saying it's official. Kinda surprising. I figured the Yankees would do what it takes to get him. NY is having a much better year than I figured but I just cannot see them getting very far in the postseason with AJ Burnett as their #2 starter. They need a starter upgrade badly.

Yeah but they are not going to give up the farm for a guy who's hasn't been as good since after the 2010 AS break. Then you have to figure how is he going to handle the AL east.

Good point. But he does pitch half his games in Colorado. I doubt his ERA would be much worse in the AL East given that. Guess I'm still not used to the old man not making decisions for the Yankees anymore. The younger Steinbrenners just aren't as active with trades. Whether that is a good or bad thing time will tell.
