I got it from Darren Rovell from CNBC. He said: "Cole Hamels wishes his keys to the game were this simple!"

Well, the Bo Sox returned fire today and the series is tied 1-1.

Major turning point early in the Braves/Mets game:

Tommy Hanson's having some trouble with his location. He gave up 2 runs in the first and allowed the 1st inning two batters in the 2nd inning to reach second & third bases. Strikeout. Foul out (Jose Reyes). Strikeout.

Then in the top of the 3rd, Freddie Freeman (20) and Dan Uggla (27) both extend their hit streaks amidst a five run rally! It was a parade of singles, the most damaging of which was a 2-RBI single from backup catcher David Ross. Uggla's single was goofy, a swinging bunt that spun back into the infield when it reached the chalk! Recent callup Jose Constanza extended his own hit streak to 6, and I believe Alex Gonzalez is riding a 7-game hit streak now.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it is the first time that the Braves franchise (the longest continually operating franchise in MLB) have ever had two hitters with 20+ game hit streaks simultaneously.

EDIT: D'oh! Tommy Hanson just gave up another HR; now it's 5-4 in the 3rd.

EDIT2: Jesus Christ, Tommy Hanson lasts only 3 1/3 innings, gives up 4 HRs and 7 runs... I guess since he's in New York he figures he might as well do his best AJ Burnett impression.

I have no idea what they were referring to, but apparently the announcer kept repeating it throughout the broadcast. Obviously had no idea what the phrase means in the popular lexicon.

Probably overheard the term at a poker game (as someone was getting up) and thought it literally meant they had a deuce dropping from their hand. haha. "Oh boy, I gotta remember that one for my broadcast!"

Man, how hot are the Phillies right now .. Going for 10 in row! we got Lincecum on the mound today and need a victory DESPERATELY!!! lucky for us the D-backs are struggling vs the Dodgers, so were still in first, barely

I actually feel sorry for the Braves.. Second best record in the NL, yet there 9.5 games back of the Phillies... WOW! At least there in first for the wildcard

Certified Mets killer Chipper Jones does it again with the go-ahead RBI in the top of the ninth inning, 6-5 final. The Braves are really struggling with half the team on the disabled list (the most recent addition of which is allstar pitcher Jair Jurrjens). At least they're finally receiving some valuable offensive contributions from perennial underachievers such as Alex Gonzalez and Jason Heyward. So far on this road trip, they took only 1 of 3 from the Nationals and barely won 2 of 3 against the Mets. Dan Uggla also extended his hit streak to 28 today and orchestrated a nice double play in the bottom of the ninth. He has a chance of besting Andre Ethier's season-high hit streak of 30.

Amazing, isn't it? It doesn't seem to matter who plays for the Mets Chipper finds a way of sticking it to them. Uggla has a 28 game hitting streak and is still hitting just .220.

Bourn has been terrific so far with Atlanta. A huge improvement at the top of the lineup.

Ya, it sucks. Braves are on pace for 93 wins and a Wild Card and trail Philly by 9.5 games. Phillies are on pace for 106 wins. They've given up 36 fewer runs than any other team in MLB.

And it doesnt help that recently aquired player, Pence has been on a TEAR the past week or so, he actually has a hit in every game as a Philly ..

Thanks Astros

Bourn and Constanza have been TERRIFIC pickups for such a depleted team. Their speed on the base paths seems to produce at least two infield hits per game and in the outfield seems to rob a hitter of an extra basehit at least once per game.

If the Braves are able to get healthy for the postseason, we would stack up pretty well against the Phillies in a seven-game series. But if we're not healthy, I don't even like our chances in the NLDS against Milwaukee or whomever.

Yeah, you guys need some confidence against the Phils. Well, my Yanks are down 1-0 to the Bo Sox in the bottom of the 4th. On the general MLB front, it sounding like it's a strong possibility that they will add one extra wild card team to each league.

Think they said CC is 0-4 against the Sox this year... awesome... think its 0-5 after that loss...

Yeah last night hurt, but it's a whole new season come the playoffs. These two teams are pretty much a lock for the post season.

Yankees can turn it around.

Just remember in 09 what happened. The Sox had our number that year and we won it all. Also, we're only 1 game out with just over a month and a half to go in the regular season.

im just sayin....and i know were still right it in the race for the pennant.... but, regardless, it looks like were going to be meeting in the playoffs at some point regardless of who gets wild card.....it would be a little more comforting knowing we were able to handle them in the regular season....
