The Giants offense never ceases to disappoint. Lincecum dominated the Braves, giving up 5 hits and 1 run and got a loss as Atlanta won 1-0. Lincecum's ERA is a terrific 2.53 but his record is 11-10. Only two hitters in the Giants lineup are hitting >.250 for the season.

I think if he worked for another team with less of a budget he would still find the great values and wouldn't waste money and bigger bad contracts.
I think people are taking more notice of Cashman these days. It was hard for the guy to get noticed much when old man Steinbrenner was alive. Used to be the only time you'd see Cashman on camera during a game he'd look like a guy on the verge of suicide. Probably a nervous wreck he'd get canned like everyone else who ever worked for the Boss. He's a very smart baseball guy.

Got a pitcher's duel in Anaheim. The only run in the game was a HR by former Angel Mike Napoli. Colby's gone 6 solid so far. But he's outdueled Weaver so far. I hope he gets enough run-support to cash in on a win.

For a brief moment in time I thought we had a chance to come back. Nope.

Joe Mauer playing right field. Guys gotta earn that paycheck.

Yep, more chances for the Twins fans in Minny to boo him.

So get this... In Lincecums 25 or so starts, Giants have score a total of 0 runs in 10 of those games...

Can you imagine him on an offensive team like the Yanks, Red Sox or Phills.. 20 wins would be automatic

Or just replace this year's San Francisco offense with what they had in 2002 (Bonds, Kent and co.) and combine it with this season's pitching. They'd probably win 110 games.

lol your right... But with all that offense we had in the early 2000's, it provided zero world series.. As opposed to last year where we had GREAT pitching and a decenet offense that won us a world series!!!...

Great/Good pitching > Great/Good hitting!!!

The Giants offense was fine in the 2002 WS. They outscored Anaheim 44-41, despite losing. That's 6.3 runs per game of offense.

Thats infalted as i remember one of the games we scored like 15 runs i think ... But my point is that with great pitching all you need is a decent/good offense to be successful in the MLB

Like the 1999 Indians. 1009 runs scored

Lineup: Sandy Alomar, Thome, Roberto Alomar, Vizquel, Fryman. Justice, Lofton, Manny Ramirez, Baines, Sexson, Wil Cordero, Baerga

Yet they lost in the ALDS. Nagy, Burba and Colon, Wright and a washed up Gooden solid but not good enough.

How several 90's stacked Indians teams failed to win is beyond me.

Ya, Cleveland should have won at least one championship there. They had their chance in 1995 and 1997 but lost in a close World Series both times. Though in 1995 it was Cleveland's offense that lost them the series to Atlanta. They scored only 19 runs in a 6 game defeat. Tom Glavine completely owned them in his two starts. Cleveland actually won 100 games that season in a strike-shortened 144 games.

It is ashame how bad their fan support dried up. For several years in the 90's they constantly sold out games at Jacobs. Even with a very competitive team this season they barely draw 22k per game.

Astros 5, Giants 0. Says alot about the lack of scoring by the Giants or is the pitching that good for the Astros.

The Giants offense just sucks that bad. Lets put it this way. The Astros have the worst record in MLB by a mile - 6 games worse than any other team. Yet Houston has scored 46 runs more than the Giants for the season.

Are you kidding me , I was just in Minneapolis last week and everyone in the city practically worships Mauer.

The Mauer jerseys are owned by pretty much everyone in Minneapolis. Mauer this Mauer that..it got pretty annoying actually.

The Astros did have their ace on the mound (Wandy Rodriguez) but still the Giants are going no where this year with their offense.

Nope, he's been booed this year by the home fans. Even I was surprised. I mean, he's the hometown kid. It would almost be like if us Yankee fans booing Jeter (even though he's not from NY, he spent his summers here at his grand parents during the summers when he was a kid).

I suppose everyone has potential to be booed if they struggle, it's just the nature of the game.
Heck if Pujols went 0-16 in a series I'd boo him, what have you done for me lately is the approach fans seem to take.
