Both the Sox and Rays lost last night, keeping the difference at two games. Sox magic number is now 7 with 7 games left. Only other race which is still in question is the NL wild card race where the Braves have a magic number of six with seven games remaining. The Yankees, Rangers, Brewers, and Diamondbacks should close out their races before the weekend.

Well, we're in with the 4-2 win over the Rays. With a win in the 2nd game of the double header and a BoSox loss, we're the 2011 AL east champs. I just got back from the 1st game and came back home. I'll be heading back at 6pm.

Angles within 2.5 games now of the wildcard, crossing my fingers. They need to keep on winning and Boston and Tampa need to keep on losing.
My brother mowed a big A in the grass today, so maybe that will bring us luck.

We're AL east champs.

stage 1 is complete. I was at the game (of course) and I'll post pics in the morning (being at both games of the double header wore me out).

Braves wildcard lead is only 1.5 games

What's going on? All I ask is for six strong innings offensively and pitching a game. O'Flaherty, Venters and Kimbrel can take care of the final three innings on any given day.

After yet another loss last night Pedroia said something that got bleeped, but I think he said the Sox are looking like a shitty team. Yikes! He'll hear about that today...

Unreal. Just hit his 37th HR tonight to tie with Pujols. He has 6 more RBI than Fielder and is 3 points behind Reyes for AVG.

Rangers clinch the division, and Craig Gentry gets a stand up inside the park home run for his first MLB home run... even though he stopped at first base since Nelson Cruz was moving so slowly due to the recovering hamstring injury.

There's going to be some dumb voters who will refuse to vote for Dodgers players. It doesn't matter. Voters in general aren't completely inept anymore. LA's taking the Cy and MVP this year.
