Were the Yankees even planning on pitching Burnett this series before the wash-out? I wouldn't have been surprised seeing them bring back Sabathia on 3 days rest had the series gona as planned. Seems like that wash-out hurt NY more than Detroit.

exactly what happened....and the analysts keep saying it hurt the Tigers more cuz Verlander cant pitch twice...

lol... why so negative man... you act like were facing Verlander again...isnt it this kids first postseason start?

If AJ is on....then whats the problem here?

Ya, the Tigers have better depth in their rotation. I doubt many people would rather have Burnett start for their team than Porcello. And while Verlander is one of the best starters in the game these analysts are overlooking Sabathia. Right now I'd say Verlander is a better pitcher than Sabathia, but only by a slim margin. If anything those two come close to canceling each other out.

Man oh man MLB and Selig are going to hate life if the Yankees and Phillies both get bounced in the 1st round and get stuck with St. Louis-Milwaukee and Texas-Detroit in the LCS series. Total ratings fail if that happens. Though my guess is Philly still wins over St. Louis.

Look on the bright side. If you can somehow gut out a win tonight you have an extremely favorable Nova-Fister matchup at Yankee Stadium. Could happen, you never know with the way MLB is.
